Cheaply done work, and underpaid staff!

    Pros

Did not have to spend much time in the office hearing all the negativity which was nice.

    Cons

The tours that were set-up by the kerry group were somewhat of a joke! The program manager I worked with was good, as well as select few others that actually knew what was going on...but unfortunately their hands were tied when it came to the budgets. Budgets were sorely underestimated in order to keep costs down for the clients because management was to afraid to share what the real cost of quality experiential marketing is. The equipment that is sent on the road is thrown together, and for a cheaper cost; which shows. After multiple activations the equipment becomes harder and harder to keep looking good. It ends up falling apart...sometimes in the middle of an event. This becomes a vicious cycle which eventually falls on the shoulders of the road crew to fix and maintain. Usually after long conversations where the crew is blamed for such equipment and threatened. To add to the frustration, management expects tour staff to travel on very limited funds, which makes it fun after traveling sometimes all day after an activation day which includes tear down. Nothing like wanting a nice hotel room which you cannot get because you only have so much to spend sometimes in a major city.

    Great Experience

    Pros

The company is a fun place to work. medium size so lot's of camaraderie and nice people. Organization is loose and rewards self-starters. People have a lot of freedom to complete their assignments, participate, make decisions, etc. A lot of opportunity to learn due to size. Staff are given assignments based on capability, availability and willingness to take on responsibility. Recommendation to anyone interested in working there is to "jump-in"

    Cons

Can be really crazy at times with a lot of activity. The nature of the business is project driven, short timelines, lots of variables which creates a lot of challenges.

    Idea Harvesters

    Pros

Laid back office work with no real deadlines or repercussion to not meeting client deadlines. Cute new office building.

    Cons

Exceptionally disorganized. They hire a lot of employees for only 90 days. In this time, they gain the employee's ideas and use them as their own marketing plans for their clients. When their tours go out, they will hire someone on as an Operations Manager and then let them go once everything is organized even though that individual was expecting a career with the Kerry Group. The office personnel are not willing to assist others; they delegate work around in circles until it is an emergency to get it completed. They only offer benefits (healthcare, 401K, etc) to those in their office circle. BEWARE! Salary that is negotiated during the interview will change once you receive your hire packet once you arrive. The company puts small changes in the hire packet that will effect your pay greatly. I lost $1,000 in three months. Will be looking for other work. The company undercuts the budget for marketing campaigns and then they try to push expenses of tour on to their tour managers by giving them no budget.

This is not Kerry Ingredients Co.

    Pros

Opportunity to learn if you are a self-starter. Atmosphere is friendly, people are nice.

    Cons

Many posters are confusing The Kerry Group, LLC (Brand Activation-Experiential Marketing Co. located in Fenton, MO) with Kerry Group Ingredients, Inc. (A global food ingredients company). Many of the posts here are for the latter.

    Great place to work

    Pros

In R&D, your boss is likely somebody who has worked your position and knows what you are going through. Overall, the company likes to take care of its employees with the occasional party and with half-days off in addition to major holidays.

    Cons

As a large company, Kerry suffers from disconnect between its divisions (R&D, Sales, Marketing, etc.)

    Pros

I enjoy the laid back environment, nice new office and friendly people who work here.

    Cons

The health insurance isn't great but its to be expected for a company this small. I do not fault the Kerry Group for this because its out of their hands.

    Pros

Decent pay but they lied to me about my weekly salary. They say one thing about your weekly salary and then they give it to you based on every other week.

    Cons

They do not manage their time well. The upper people are untouchable and will drop accounts and make large mistakes but do not get reprimanded. However perfect employees will get fired after 90 days because they are approaching benefits. Also they try to get as many ideas as possible out of you before they let you go, it feels like they are idea mining.
