    Pros

Great opportunity for growth, opportunities within the company that don't exist at small agencies. Great people.

    Cons

Low salaries and office politics make it difficult to feel valued. Some people are kept at the same levels with no growth for years while others are quickly promoted. Hours are extremely tough.

I have been working at Ketchum full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For the most part everyone is nice and is trying to do great work. Paid days off, 401k option, mediocre heath care options.

    Cons

I've worked with some of the most creative, innovative, inspiring people who have been underpaid, burnt out, and creatively destroyed. Upper management is run by favorites and politics. Account teams fear clients and add unwarranted and uneducated opinions on creative. Very little integration between different specialty teams and experts with account teams. Very, very little concern for work/life balance; a little more breathing room if you have kids, but if you don't its an uphill battle. A lot of great managers in the mid-level range, and double the amount of horrific mangers at higher levels. There is a desire and push to be involved in advanced technology, and yet the grasp on the current technology and trends is severely lacking. There are so many "boomerangs" or people who leave and come back because raises are abysmal and promotions are rare for mid-level employees.

    Advice to Management

Try to recognize the talent you've already acquired and help employees grow and feel appreciated. Allow all employees to go through the 360 review process, including upper management.

I have been working at Ketchum (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Having worked at other large agencies, Ketchum just feels different and in a really good way! There is a genuine focus on the people, a strong culture of putting people first and there is an entrepreneurial spirit about the programs at the agency that allows one to guide their own path forward with hard work. You get out of the agency what you put in.

    Cons

Some space challenges given the rapid growth but its being worked on.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. Reward all great talent.

    Pros

Ketchum has an amazing work-culture that truly seem to put their people first. The attrition rate seems fairly high and many people who typically grow up within the agency do so because they've been given numerous opportunities to move around internally. They also have several fun and innovative programs in-place from Ketchum Scholar (work-abroad), Spark Tank, similar to Shark Tank), Ketchum Social Responsibility (philanthropy) and"Love your Client's Week" where a # of clients visit the NY office to share best practices along with sponsoring different events from panel sessions to contests etc.

    Cons

The NY office is growing rapidly and they seem to be outgrowing their space but I believe this is something they're working on.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! It's great to see how involved the Executive Leadership Team is in the day-to-day.

    Pros

Learn a lot, work flexibility, creative, great team dynamic, tuition reimbursement, nice to parents, good location, lots of industry connection opportunities

    Cons

Have to work your way up and start at the bottom of the totem pole. Management does not value degrees you already have

    Advice to Management

Allow people to start higher up

I worked at Ketchum full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

enjoyed working with staff and always coming to the office motivated and inspiring ohers

    Cons

after 18 wonderful years of employment, I didn't really appreciate the option I was given to leave the company. And those were being fired or leave via disability. Hired a employment lawyer and received severance and vacation pay.

    Advice to Management

there is a reason key staffers are leaving and that's understandable. But under some of those conditions mentioned and to recruit current staffers and they too leave, immediately, says something

    Pros

Great location and team. Fun events and activities at work. Good benefits

    Cons

Too much turn around. The company is so divided. So many promises made but never follow through. It feels like the employees are not valued at all. Work/life balance sucks

    Pros

Great people. Lots of opportunity for growth. You can define your path based on your passions and interests.

    Cons

Can be challenging to navigate politically. Some offices are more integrated and forward thinking than others. There are still a number of PR traditionalists who are slower to adopt new digital practices.

    Advice to Management

    Celebrate and encourage integration!
