I worked at Key Energy Services (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Safety oriented on a transportation basis, and they offer good benefits, the office buildings are under a covered awning and there is plenty of parking.

    Cons

There is NO job stability. No acknowledgement of certifications received during employment, Senority nor loyalty is a factor when it comes to lay-offs, corporate driven

    Advice to Management

Management needs to remember where they came from and keep that in mind when they are down sizing which is WAY to often.

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

In spite of all the layoffs and people leaving, there are still a lot of good people in the company.

    Cons

Worst (former) president, CEO and chairman imaginable. If the Boad had "retired" him 2 or more years ago, the company would not be in its current condition. There is not a single initiative the company has undertaken that has not failed in his 10+ years with the company.
Salary and benefit cuts have already been put in place. Limited opportunity right now.

    Advice to Management

New President has his work cut out. I hope he is successful.

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

During my time at Key I worked with some very good people who were dedicated and talented.

    Cons

The company has not made a profit in over 3 years, even before the 2014 - 2015 drop in oil prices. Several acquisitions have not turned out profitable. The only solution over the years has been to reorganize and lay off employees. These efforts have not been successful.

    Advice to Management

Stockholders, other than the BOD, would be served best by a new executive team in my opinion. The company needs a totally new direction. Getting acquired may be the best move for the company as a whole.

    Pros

Current employees will tell you they can't think of one thing

    Cons

    1. You will not get the raises you deserve unless you're related to one of the executives
    2. the company talks a lot of BS--employer of choice; communication; effective leadership, but they dont folow what preach
    3. this company acts like a privately owned one even though they're publicly traded
    4. in 4 years, they've had 6 layoffs. this is bad for society as well as it increases the number of people having to draw from unemployment
    5. HR sucks! one of its people are promoted simply bc of who they know without proper degrees and experienc
    6. most people who work at Key --field and corporate--hate their jobs and are trying to escape
Do yourself a favor and find a real company that knows how to manage a business, correctly forecast and doesnt engage in nepotism

    Advice to Management

Nepotism is not a way to run a SUCCESSFUL business

I have been working at Key Energy Services full-time

    Pros

The people I work with are nice, but not upper management.

    Cons

They do a round of lay offs about every six months, so if you just got hired, don't expect to be there more than a year. For example, they just hired a COO and to pay for that new executive, they laid off other employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to better budget so you don't have to get rid of good employees every time you need money.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Grow some balls and stick to your word
