I have been working at Key Safety Systems (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are multiple different fields that you can learn at KSS, from management to technician work. Responsibilities get pushed to employees more than other companies I have worked for so they really test your potential.

    Cons

Communication between departments could be better.

    Pros

Only 1, you get 2 weeks vacation as soon as you are hired on.

    Cons

    Machines barely work
Half of the operators don't know anything but one machine
All 3 B1 supervisors are very uneducated, especially 3rd shift
All priorities are in the wrong place
    Terrible management
    Possible money laundering
Unworthy people given bigger opportunities based not based on experience
Have to jump through hoops to make the quota because the machines are slow and fault all the time.

    Advice to Management

Fire yourselves. Stop cheating the ones who actually work and care

    Pros

It was close to home. Local area is decent for places to eat.

    Cons

Management is a joke, most of them have just been there so long that they failed upwards. High turnover from all departments. Loves to higher is Visa employees so they can hold that leverage over them. Everything is panic driven because most of the management have no understanding. CEO hires his friends into high paying positions, but when they are asked to work they threaten to quit and he gives them raises and removes tasks from them.

    Advice to Management

Hire people that will take accountability and make changes. Trim the fat from the company, There are more executive and director level managers than middle managers.

I have been working at Key Safety Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Growing company. New opportunities come up due to the growth. Some of the departments are great to work in, such as Active and several product teams. Good management in these departments, which makes a big difference.
There are also a few outstanding executive leaders here.

    Cons

On the flip side, some departments are awful to work in. The purchasing department is a disorganized mess, but I do think upper management is trying to improve things. I would not want to work there for the time being. The accounting department has turned into a snake pit in the last two years (bottom line - stay away from accounting for the time being). The plants are furious that they are not allowed to add more heads. Some employees at the plants are working 100 hours/week.

    Advice to Management

It is time to start acting like a multi-billion dollar company. Executive management at times wants to micromanage everything. Let the middle managers do that. You also need to fix the problems that exist now. As the company continues to grow, it will be more difficult to fix them.
You should also treat employees equally. Everyone does know about the secret annual holiday party that only upper management are invited to attend. The holiday party for all employees is a joke.

    Pros

A lot of opportunities and challenges. The company is growing and there is a lot of room for improvement and new ideas.

    Cons

A lot of turnover. A lot of stress. No bonus, which is very bad. A little bit of old school, that's why they are open to recommendations.

    Advice to Management

Focus on people, let them grow and keep them in the company.
