    I worked at KeyBank full-time

    Pros

Good pay, benefits and vacation time. Flexibility to work from home as needed. Severance packages based upon tenure with company.

    Cons

Constant state of workforce reductions. Inconsistencies of providing chairman's awards to top employees who are sometimes laid off a few years after winning the award.

    Advice to Management

    Value all employees.

I worked at KeyBank (More than a year)

    Pros

The company compensates well and PTO is good.

    Cons

With a M&A, your job may not be secure as you think it is.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training and break divisional barriers.

I have been working at KeyBank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits are great. The extra perks such as the sports tickets and tuition reimbursement. They are very flexible with balancing work and home.

    Cons

I found it hard to move up. It was easy to move laterally but if you want to move up after obtaining several degrees and taking on extra projects to get a higher salary it more than likely will not happen. Interns come in swoop those roles right up!

    Advice to Management

If you love key and want to move up leave and come back for a transitioning role and higher salary

    Pros

Benefits, incentive compensation, time off, salary

    Cons

It's a terrible work environment. Over half of the branches are not fully staffed, in many branches it's a revolving door of staff coming and going (including managers) which makes meeting the high sales goal expectations near impossible. Managers are hired at a whim with no thought to their ability in leadership and therefore affect the staff as far as coaching and meeting production goals. The orientation training for bankers and managers is terrible. They also give quite a bit of lip service to "helping the customers." But at the end of the day you had better help "x amount" of customers and sell "x amount of credit cards" etc. When branch goals are not met, managers tell you push the flavor of the day. (Credit cards, Large Deposits etc) Many bankers push things on customers that they don't need only to make their numbers and they get praised for this behavior b/c it is making the bank money.

    Advice to Management

Find out how to hire good "leaders" not just managers. Improve the training and then the follow up coaching by the manager.

I have been working at KeyBank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Genuinely friendly coworkers. Great managers make all the difference, and there are many.

    Cons

Typical large corporate issues. Meetings required for most activities and decisions. Hard to move quickly in many instances.

    Advice to Management

opportunities to cut non-value add work. positions of oversight and review of experienced management can be streamlined to cut costs without sacrificing quality. employees can make suggestions that would lead to savings

I have been working at KeyBank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Key Bank has good work-life balance, generous PTO and flexibility. There are some great people there who work very hard. Its not as demanding as other banks ive worked for in the past.

    Cons

Horrible technology, hard to move up or make more money without leaving the bank and coming back. The salaries are low compared to other local banks. A lot of older people who are set in their ways and non willing to change even if that change is an improvement to efficiency. Some terrible employees who dont do anything but seem to be protected.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more incentives (bonuses, raises, etc) to keep good employees.
