The company pays upper management well. They provide monthly meetings to keep communication flowing. The direct care staff really care about their individuals
Cons

Pros
The amazing individuals you support
Cons
Don't believe the Mission and Vision, it's all a lie. As a former long term employee, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. You will get pushed around and everything will get dumped on you by the shady people In upper management. When you ask for help you won't get it, you are treated like you are replaceable. Good luck getting time off, it won't happen.

+Lots of PTO +Standard Benefits Package (crappy Health Insurance, Vision, Dental, 401k). Nothing special. +Being able to care for individuals.
Cons
-Extremely Low Pay (industry standard). No raises policy. -Heavy work-place politics (My way or the highway type attitude) -Non-Unionized -Huge overturn rate (There is a reason they have a hard time hiring) -Upper management are out of touch with individual programs -Lack of direction/protocols -Lots of PTO, but no chance to actually use it -Heavy work-home stress for horrible pay

Pros
Supporting the individuals & the direct support staff. This was a very rewarding job.
Cons
Where to begin! corrupt upper management, no value from upper management to the individuals, fear of being accused of something you didn't do, afraid of going to work because you get screamed at & threatened by those above you. STAY AWAY!!!!!! UPPER management talks a good talk but they don't care about the individuals they only care about making themselves look good.

There are many pros such as pay, benefits and working with individuals that need support in hygiene, coping skills etc. the company provides training such as first aid CPR and medication administration certifications.
Cons
Upper management is disorganized and constantly seems like they're trying to implement new ideas and plans that simply are a waste of time or resource. May experience vicarious trauma

Worst job I’ve ever had
Dec 16, 2017 - Direct Care Staff in Sunbury, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Learning more about disabilities Plenty of overtime
Cons
Upper management could care less about their employees. Focus seemed to be more on making money than the quality of life. Individuals that lived within the homes barley had a chance to deviate from the schedule forced upon them by management. Trainings were wonderful on paper but not relastic for working inside the homes.
