I have been working at Kforce Government Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive salary, full telecommute positions, solid benefits. My coworkers are generally a very professional, committed, good group of people. No major issues since having come on board.

    Cons

After being hired, I was asked to drive 100 miles both ways to get my I-9 verified, despite there being an office local to me to do this. The verification process took 5 minutes, and I was NOT reimbursed for travel. Also, after a solid performance review, I find that my salary will be increased a couple months after my review date. I mean great, it's a raise, but the wait for it is longer than has been with past employers.

    Advice to Management

Onboarding is really the only thing I would ding this employer about. The staffer who directed me regarding the I-9 was less than responsive and didn't seem open to scheduling my verification locally to save me the hassle and gas. I am a caregiver to an elderly loved one and I specifically chose a job with 0% travel for that reason.

I worked at Kforce Government Solutions (More than a year)

    Pros

At KGS, you'll have the opportunity to work with some good employees. The pay is fair. It's a job---

    Cons

This company doesn't appear to be run similarly to many other government contractors. The same transparency isn't there, and overall the company appears to move with the tides rather than being strategically managed. There is no bench so to speak, and no real opportunities within.... The focus is not "investing in people" but rather - finding who suits the current opportunity... it almost appears as though they are struggling to tread water and haven't progressed to the next level of organizational maturity

    Advice to Management

look at people as long-term assets rather than short term profit centers. show this commitment by action.

I have been working at Kforce Government Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People are good to work with and there are pockets of collaborative work

    Cons

Constant organizational change and management turnover. The result is confusion among all of the workers delivering on contracts. No real apparent strategy and with all of the change there is almost no forward momentum.

    Advice to Management

Settle on a direction and stick with it for a while - give it time to work. Be willing to invest in your staff -- don't just hire and fire or wait until a contract ends to consider an employee's next role.

    Pros

The program managers are great to work for. They really go out of their way to give you the best chance for success. The benefits are second to none.

    Cons

Working with Government employees can be draining. Pay is not industry standard as the contracts often go to lowest or next to lowest bidder.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide world class service. Fight for your employees to have industry standard wages.

I have been working at Kforce Government Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty good benefits. Limited education reimbursement

    Cons

    On the low side; No promotions; and no identified path to advancement. You are recognized by senior managementfor awesome work; only dinged for minor deviations from arbitrary company policies; e.g., Update timekeeping system before 5:00 pm;

    Advice to Management

Get rid of dead wood *clueless middle manageers.
If a "Supervisor" has no clue and no curiosity as to what you are doing and never even comes around to find out, how on Earth is that person qualified to conduct an annual performance review? Upper Management is All Hat and no Cattle.
