I have been working at KiZAN Technologies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

My role as a Systems Consultant allows for the flexibility a family needs.
    Welcoming and trusting environment.
Less oversight than a typical IT job, so long as you are producing results and being a valuable member of the team.
KiZAN wants you do what you love and allows employees to move laterally to other departments if that is where their passion lies.
    Work culture

    Cons

As an employee, there is lots of opportunity to overwork yourself when you can connect from anywhere. Another pro here, however, would be that the company understands travel and overtime / Weekend work takes away from your life and will give you time off during the week to recoup lost personal time or sleep.

    Advice to Management

I love the level of autonomy and flexibility that come with my role as a consultant. It most certainly keeps me from entertaining other job offers.

    Pros

    - Standard consulting firm, you will stay busy and be using a wide variety of products and platforms.

    Cons

    - Standard consulting firm
    - lack of true PM organization , everything seems to be at the hip.

    Advice to Management

Get your hands around work / life balance and learn how to implement a true PMO that can help your people and your customers.

    Pros

    - Great group of people with very diverse talents.
     - Flexible, casual work environment.
     - Transparent management. Frequent updates are given as to the health and future of the company. Employees are encouraged to ask questions and/or express concerns.
     - Competitive salary.
     - Lots of opportunity to learn new technologies and get industry certifications (which Kizan will pay for).
     - Very little travel for most consultants since most work can be done remotely.
     - The Louisville office, while in an office park, is in a very picturesque setting.
     - Finally, free snacks and drinks in the break room.

    Cons

Very few. My stint with Kizan was rather short, since I took an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

It's consulting, so as great as Kizan is, you are really working for Kizan's customers, and their needs must be met, obviously. It often takes skill and dexterity to manage the various customer relationships, beyond the tech skills you have. You will likely have different projects running at once at various stages. This can be invigorating to some, though.

    Advice to Management

None. Keep doing what you are doing. Stay transparent, and continue to focus on standing behind your consultants while also delivering solutions.

I have been working at KiZAN Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work environment. Can come and go as I please from the office. Low drama in work space. Easy to broaden your spectrum of work. Loads of interesting experiences and not much travel required

    Cons

You might be stuck on a bunch of projects which can be counterproductive. Pay might not be as competitive as some Sysadmin jobs. You must be a self starter to work here. Training is not really offered and you may not get much assistance from coworkers because everyone is busy.

    Advice to Management

More organization and more employees may lead to higher productivity. Training opportunities.

I have been working at KiZAN Technologies (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people who are passionate about their work. Ability to follow your interests and expand skills in relevant areas. Abilities are recognized, encouraged, and rewarded. Current business outlook is extremely strong. Amount of travel is declining as customer base expands.

    Cons

Organizational change can be slow, compared to the size of the company. Communication between Louisville and Cincinnati can be muddled at times.

    Advice to Management

Continue growing the business, listening to and incorporating feedback from the employees, and ensuring the "Raving Fan" experience stays a core component of delivery.

I worked at KiZAN Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A growing company, great technical team members. Sharepoint masters and a desire by the technical staff, programmers and as a team to provide great service. They believe in giving the client a priority, training the staff and hiring quality programmers and analyst.

    Cons

The Cincinnati office is out of control, unorganized management making shifting decisions that has impacts on the teams with competing demands and shifting priorities.

The Louisville office has a much higher level of professionalism and attention to the proper use utilization of resources and structured prioritization.

    Advice to Management

Realignment of the operational structure in Cincinnati to create a stable management environment driven by project criteria rather than personalities and provide better due diligence for the client.
