I have been working at Kia Motors America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Growing company, new products, and never boring. Kia dealership are generally pretty relaxed. Good place to learn how to sell cars or if you are looking to move from a high strung auto mall job.

    Cons

Low market share and salesman are tasked to overcome the poor perception of Kia's quality. I've seen the brand grow tremendously since I've been with the company and so have our customer base. Just have to hang on.

I worked at Kia Motors America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very good benefits, moderately good salary. Good coworkers. Nice facility (Irvine, CA corporate offices). Making a good automotive product, with quality increasing year over year, I took pride in what we were accomplishing at KMA in the 5+ years I worked there.

    Cons

Poor employee support model, poor communications throughout the company, definite "siege mentality" all around, difficult working conditions including being under-staffed with all employees in my area expected to bear unusually heavy workloads. Low morale in most, if not all departments. Employees' needs & perspective not valued, and neither are the employees themselves, as they are squeezed daily for high-quality work produced in too many long hours in too little time, with too little managerial support and usually on a less than adequate budget--but none of this is by accident... this is so universal throughout the company, it can only be what passes for an unspoken employee retention (or not) plan at Kia Motors America.

    Advice to Management

Most every manager probably knows what needs to be done to improve every part of their department's processes and performance, but none have the power to do anything about it, so they merely shrug, grumble along with everyone else, and try to survive another day.
