I worked at Kia Motors America full-time

    Pros

Coworkers and office space. Not much else.

    Cons

No work/family business. Leaving before 7pm is frowned upon and was told that if you leave at 5pm (release time after arriving at 7am) it appears as if you haven't enough work to do. Worked through lunches. Meetings were arranged according to hierarchy and you were discouraged from speaking to higher ups.

    Advice to Management

    It's 2017.

I worked at Kia Motors America full-time

    Pros

Coworkers and location was nice at times.

    Cons

Uncertainty stems from upper management and they have a bad case of over-promising/under-delivering.

I worked at Kia Motors America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most peers are professional, nice, and willing to help each other out, which is good in an environment that feels like there's constant crisis

    Cons

-The company's problems can be traced back to poor leadership. Company is in crisis mode all the time, and notorious for being understaffed and underfunded. Employees are constantly frustrated.
-Operations are micromanaged by headquarters in Seoul though they seem to have little or no understanding of how the US auto market works. Unrealistic sales targets are set in Korea, then the American (but not Korean) staff is penalized for failing to meet them.
-Low trust, blame/CYA culture, and innovative ideas are not welcome. Your job is to follow orders, most likely from someone who has no idea of what they're doing.
-Very little promotion opportunity especially above junior manager level. If you are female or a minority (non Asian), forget it.
-Below market pay; inflexible on work hours, no telecommuting or the like.
-Advice: a job here may only be useful if it's entry level and offers a chance to learn something you're interested. But plan on having an exit strategy in 2 years. Also try very hard to connect with a current or former employee who can give you the scoop especially about the area you'd work in.

    Advice to Management

The company needs knowledgeable, 21st century leadership. Many problems can be resolved by starting here.

    Cons

Can't get promoted unless your buddy buddy with someone

Promote from within, give people with experience a chance or some other company will. I am actively looking for another job, I have had it.

I worked at Kia Motors America full-time

    Pros

With the right management it's possible to earn good commissions. The cars are easy to sell since Kia has been doing better.

    Cons

The management can be terrible in some cases and completely inhibit a sale of a car. People that make the most money have been selling KIA since the beginning.

    Advice to Management

Audit some of the management once in awhile. Even if given a simple, anonymous, survey to employees, it would show the areas that need fixing.

    Pros

Great people with a vision and drive for success.

    Cons

Kia runs very lean as far as workforce, a lot of overtime hours worked.

    Advice to Management

Increase headcount, especially in the Sales Ops/Field Ops Department.
