I worked at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There isn't a whole lot of pros other than you can get decent overtime. If you like spending every other weekend inside of a plant then this job is perfect for you

    Cons

The management at KMMG is terrible. Trying to actually get time off or even if you are a sick takes countless paperwork.

    Advice to Management

You have to change your entire structure of management. It is flawed and does not work for the employee. There will always be a rotating door if you don't do something.

  4. "Co-op"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in West Point, GA

I worked at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia for less than a year

      Pros

You get first look at cutting edge automotive technology. If you're future interest is automotive manufacturing, it's definitely the place to start at.

      Cons

The co-op term is usually "on the fly" instead of an organized program. You'll get a hundred assignments one week and nothing the week after.

      Advice to Management

Try to have an organized program for your interns/co-ops. Without it, an intern might not even be sure what they learned at the end of a term.

I have been working at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Technical Experience on vehicles from start to finish.

      Cons

Quality of vehicles produced and the lack of team member communication on ways to make the vehicles better.

      Advice to Management

Choose quality over quantity you can make 1000 cars and 500 last or you can make 1000 quality cars that will have a long road life to continue to build the companies brand.

I worked at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia

      Pros

$400 a week for temps there is no getting hired through the door

      Cons

In order to protect Kia employees you have to be a Malone Staffing Temporary worker for two years before you can get hired on, and no joke they will try to get you out of there before two years. No life outside of work due to rotating shifts every month and a lot of 6 day work weeks.

      Advice to Management

      Treat your temporary workers better

I worked at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia full-time

      Pros

Kia Motors was a nice company to work for as a engineer, it allowed for many learning opportunities. They offer lots of training and the engineering staff is knowledgeable.

      Cons

There is a culture shock when first starting off at Kia since it is a international company there is a language barrier when dealing with some team members.

      Advice to Management

I would say offer more opportunities for the new comers to shine and show what they are worth and have a less senior based training structure.

I worked at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

The money and the benefits are amazing its not to many jobs where you can make almost $80k a year with just a high school diploma. It also comes with a great opportunity to be able to travel to South Korea.

      Cons

Long work weeks. When I worked there, we worked 2-3 Saturdays out of the month. On top of that there are 3 rotating shifts. The work/life balance is definitely off.

      Advice to Management

No advice to management, most times they don't listen anyway. It is a disconnect between the Korean managers and American workers.
