I worked at Kichler Lighting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice people and fun family environment

    Cons

Sometimes you feel like you are in elementary school with the silly rules. Instead of confronting those that break the rules they make it hard on everyone. Very low pay.

I have been working at Kichler Lighting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, excellent coworkers, family feel. Management is always approachable regardless of what you need and what else they have going on.

    Cons

There are occasional lapses in communication from upper management to the associates. There are not very many opportunities for advancement.

    Pros

There are a lot of really great people working at Kichler. A chance to travel the world a bit.

    Cons

I would rather not bash the company but Glassdoor is making me type at least twenty words here. Have a great day!

    Pros

You get paid weekly and it's accurate.

    Cons

Management needs management training. The company is completely outdated. Stay away from the "Builder Department" if you must work there. Will pat you on the back one minute and let you go without warning the next. Vacation is hilarious.. Company morale is awful.. No diversity in leadership/management roles. Don't respect women opinions. I wish I could be more positive but I have worked in Corporate for over 20 years and this place is the worse. I got questioned for using the bathroom and I wasn't even in sales. So if you like to be micromanaged this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Do better!! Hire a management consultant company. Seek help..

I worked at Kichler Lighting (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    My pay checks never bounced.

    Cons

It might be different for professional positions, sales, design, etc. but working in the Kichler warehouse was my most frustrating professional experience. The union workforce has zero accountability in terms of production and a ridiculously lenient attendance policy, it was a miracle people showed up to work at all. I can't recommend working in the Kichler warehouse. Pay is low.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to get rid of the union.

I have been working at Kichler Lighting full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

We continue to grow year after year so it's stable employment-not like those big companies. A lot of new people, Managers & Executive so everyone is going thru a lot of change.
I'm really surprise by some of the other reviews, maybe it wasn't a good fit for them. Good benefits and perks. I think people are great!!!!

    Cons

A lot of processes and procedures still need to get into place for things to run smoothly. A lot of new people and everyone has an opinion.
I'd like to be able to work from home sometimes.

    Advice to Management

A couple of new Executives so settle on a direction/vision and work together

    Pros

Pay is OK, benefits are lacking, union is worthless!

    Cons

Not worth the abuse. The culture is toxic!

    Advice to Management
