I have been working at Kiddie Academy full-time

    Pros

The kids are wonderful and some of the coworkers.

    Cons

There are no breaks. You get the major holidays and that's it. So the day after Christmas you'll have to be back at work. And the management needs work on communication with employees.

    Advice to Management

    Appreciate the workers more often.

    Cons

Not many cons if you enjoy working with children.

    Pros

If you enjoy working with kids, this is the place to be. Parents are always friendly.

    Cons

The company is very cheap & barely gives a cost of living wage.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more so they want to stay.

I worked at Kiddie Academy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

KA was mostly flexible on getting you out early or if you can't come in due to you or your child being sick.

    Cons

Accommodating to a fault towards parents. Parents would ask ridiculous things like "oh I don't want Gregory going outside, he has a runny nose." So we just don't let the class go outside? We make Gregory move to a different room? That's an unreasonable request. KA needs to be realistic and not always break the teacher's backs bending over to accommodate every little thing. No I'm not going to take your 1 year old to the bathroom every 15 minutes. That's insane. That's not what should be expected of us in this setting. I never felt backed by management in these types of matters either.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees decent wages so your school doesn't have a revolving door of faces.

    Pros

Free food when there are leftovers

    Cons

Disorganized management, leaders talk down to you, you'll likely be doing a job that you were not hired for, overcrowded, many people quit within days or weeks because of the working conditions

    Advice to Management

Don't hire people for one job and have them doing something completely different.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Kiddie Academy full-time

    Pros

generally no weekends or after hours work
employees at HQ are pretty nice

    Cons

zero flexibility with work hours- you show up two minutes late and the owner is messaging your boss to write you up or threaten your job
cheap- raises are nonexistent and despite great performance reviews, even getting cost of living increases is challenging
upward mobility limited- they are growing but it's not the upper level positions they are adding
upper level management is pretty out of touch with what people like in a job in terms of work life balance- which is interesting considering it's family owned and the services the franchisees offer are to families with small children.
vacation time is limited- especially if you have not been with the organization very long

    Advice to Management

come to current day- people want the ability to work from home every once in a while if their child is sick, or not have to actually use vacation time if they need to leave an hour early to pick up a sick child from school. have some flexibility- there are locations all across the country- if it is better for an employee to stay an hour later and come in at 9 instead of 8:30, why not be open to doing that for them every once in a while even?
