I have been working at Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

With 5+ years of work experience, it's refreshing to be part of a company where one of the leadership's main goals is to foster a culture where employees can be recognized for their contributions, be mentally stimulated by their work and receive career growth opportunities within the company. It's apparent that employees (from all levels) really believe in the company mission and care about their work and patients. This makes Monday mornings sooo much better. Managers are smart, fun and respectful. They even participate in ongoing trainings -- normally it's just the newbies or younger employees who do trainings. I can go on and on about how this company is amazing but I'll just keep it brief:
    - All are committed to professional development
    - Managers welcome feedback and encourage transparency
    - Colleagues are team-oriented, committed and accountable
    - Gives back to the community and participates in many local events
    - Awesome work/life balance (work hard, play hard)
    - Company is goal-driven and business-minded
    - Exciting time to be part of the team
    - Diverse all around

    Cons

This isn't really a con but the company is growing and becoming better so, naturally, changes have been made to outdated processes. This is important for all businesses that want to thrive and be at the top of their game.

    Advice to Management

Keep implementing best practices for businesses. Know that employees are behind you, we depend on your expertise and want you to lead the way to a healthy company - internally and externally.

I have been working at Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics full-time

    Pros

Hours and flexibility, benefits including 401k, professional environment, respectful and amazing doctors

    Cons

Some upper management are catty and immature. But for every person that falls in that category, there are at least five more employees that are professional, hard working and kind-hearted. I've never worked with more amazing people than I have with KCD.

    Advice to Management

Take the high road, set the example, be the example. Hold yourself accountable and others will follow suit. You were chosen to be in your role for a reason. Own it and inspire others.

I worked at Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Meeting great employees, staff pot lucks

    Cons

Upper management was horrible, they didn't listen to employee concerns. Work life balance was non existent. Training was also terrible, they were always short staffed so they basically threw employees into impossible situations with no knowledge of how to assist patient concerns.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees suggestions, hire adaquit staff for each location. Hire a trainer for that position only, the call center isn't the same as having a trainer designated to do only that. Hire employees with some experience, especially when dealing with customer service & daily patient issues. Also follow through on corrective actions. If there is a bad apple with in an office who is always getting corrective actions with no consequence, why would they change their actions?

I worked at Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics part-time

    Pros

Great people, always felt happy to be there, and very welcomed. Management gave great training.

    Cons

Low pay, but was an internship, so was more about experience than the pay, so wasn't too much of a problem.

I have been working at Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to meet great families, 401k, bonus system, vacation medical/dental plan, AFLAC, discount on braces, you become family with your immediate team

    Cons

Poor management, no support system, lack of follow through, concerns are swept under the rug, lack or poor communication. Poor scheduling. Favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Specific to Ortho-Admit when your wrong and apologize without if and or but, learn how to do the job that your are trying to criticize an employee for. When you hire someone for management they should learn the basics of the team they are managing. Example: make a appointment , drop a chart, learn how to navigate a patients chart for basic information. When you walk in the office, smile and engage with your team before locking your self in a room until it's time to leave. Learn to be supportive in all areas of the job. Be a leader not a TYRANT. Wear your earpiece so you can actually hear what's going on and be apart of the day, carrying it around is useless if you don't use it! Remember good employees don't leave good companies, they leave bad management. This is why you are constantly short on staff and always hiring. I can go on but hopefully you get the drift.

    Pros

The schedule is Monday through Friday no Saturday's. Meet cool people working there. They're always hiring. What's that say?

    Cons

The company had changed supposedly for the better however they cut throat fired people. The turn over rate is high . They will be on u for being couple minutes late, they started micromanage. However management has no clue half the time what's going on. However they don't want to pay for the amount work load they put out. Management will be on you over your time however they will come late and leave early regardless of what's going on.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat your employees. Lead by being the example . Work with your team not against them.

    Pros

Their new branding is completely reflective of the patient and it totally rocks! The management team really listens to their patients and what they need. The doctors truly care about their work and the team members are super nice. I love it here.

    Cons

The company is growing so things change quickly, which can also be great if you are looking to move up in your career. They have a lot of open positions and promote from within first.

    Advice to Management

Continue listening to the little guys. It makes a huge difference.

I have been working at Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

zero, lie to patients, not enough time with kids for quality dental care

    Cons

Unethical, lying, treat managers and staff like garbage, communication is awful and management are skillful con artists and backstabbers, there are people in places of management, marketing, consulting that have no idea how to run a business.

    Advice to Management

This company is by far the worst I have ever worked for. Pressuring employees to write great reviews for yelp, glassdoor and indeed websites. Ceo has a sordid history with another healthcare company in Sf bay area and brought the same people over to kids care dental. There are many other examples of bad and mismanagement. 6 days a week and no time off. No wonder there is so much turnover of employees. No support to managers and staff who work the behinds off and still want more blood. I will and others I know won't be working here very much longer. Very sad.
