I worked at Kiewit Corporation (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Casual environment. You're not micromanaged.

    Cons

Kiewit is a unusual company to work for. They are not very forgiving. Kewit does primarily power and any OG&C experience will be useless to you. Although they do have an OG&C office, they try to follow the "Power" way which will cause conflicts on your assignment. Company's very political and if you get caught in the middle, it can cost you your job. They don't move on any change to advance. "It's the Power way; or the highway". Although they do provide training for software, you're not trained the Kiewit way.

    Advice to Management

Have the open mind to new avenues of progress between Power and OB&C. Having that clad iron idea doesn't work in different industries. Provide in-house training by teaming up or pairing with an seasoned employee to learn the "ins and outs" of Kiewit.
