I worked at Kiewit Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting and challenging projects. Good benefits (401k, insurance, etc.)

    Cons

Little to no control over location, minimal opportunity for raises, promotions, or sustained employment without willingness to travel.

    Advice to Management

Genuinely care for your people and they will care for you. Loyalty needs to go both ways.

I have been working at Kiewit Corporation full-time

    Pros

Kiewit is highly innovative and truly looks at employees as assets. They attempt to find places for their assets to work when work demands change.

    Cons

In their attempt at retaining their assets, they don't do enough critical conversations to end employment with non-engaged employees or people placed in jobs where their skill lacks just to keep them. Stock holders can grow entitled.

    Advice to Management

Find balance between valuing people as assets and knowing when someone needs to be coached up or coached out. Impacts to retaining people in jobs where their skills lack can leave those who are skilled for their jobs, disenchanted which results in reduction of engagement and output thereby reducing outputs and deliverables.
