I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are good, also work-life balance is important to the company.

    Cons

The company as a whole seems like it may be a good company to work for, however, the Product Supply department leaves a lot to be desired. Leadership is poor at best, there is no development direction and no room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Require middle management to move into a new role after being in the same role for so long. There is no leadership on the team and the managers are terribly lacking in skills and the ability to manage teams. HR needs more visibility to employees - HR reps are basically non-existent here.

    Cons

12 hour rotating Shifts, good Ole boy netwotk

    Advice to Management

Change the culture to a more diverse management team as well as get rid of the Ole boy network to make the work place a much better place to work

I worked at Kimberly-Clark (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits and a beautiful campus that includes an awesome perks such as a gym, nurses and cafe.

If you start with them young, they are a great company to grow with.

    Cons

I felt my interview was very positive and the job sounded perfect. However on my first day I quickly realized i was hired for a position that was completely different then what was told in the interview. I have an MBA with 10+ years experience and was hired to answer calls coming in on their 800 line. I found out later that KCC is known to hire over qualified people at very low positions and making them work through the ranks. Also there is a level system 1-14 with 14 being the lowest. If you are applying, be aware of what level the position you are applying for is as you have to stay in a position for 18+ months before you can move to another position and unless you know someone, you can only move within 2 "ranks" of where you are. Therefore if you are hired at a level 14, you can only apply for level 13 or 12.

    Pros

great benefits and salary / campus is convenient to the interstate

    Cons

    terrible working hours
    not family friendly

    Advice to Management

when dealing with a death in the family, tell Sarah Griswold to be more empathetic to the needs of the grieving employee and hold others just as responsible for not holding up their end of the work

    Pros

Business doing well especially due to low commodity costs. Base categories is in low single digit. Trying to bring diverse leaders at the top.

    Cons

Very passive aggressive culture. You need to be part of the Wisconsin club or the Chicago Club. Very difficult to be part of these clubs especially if you are an outsider. People in clubs are informally protected despite poor performance. If you go against the club you receive poor feedback and ultimately exited from the organization. Club members "gang up" in providing negative feedback. Very hard to be successful in this company even though you were a star coming in.

    Advice to Management

Break up club. Get rid of inefficient and ruthless managers. It is not enough to get senior leaders from outside.

    I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible on hours for the most part. Fairly independent. The company as a whole is good. Some locations are better than others.

    Cons

The Mobile facility is poorly kept and very old. The facilities are filthy and the air systems are old and full of dust and mold. The culture (at this location) is very good old boy, and professionalism is not evident or valued.

    Advice to Management

Pick an operating culture for ALL sectors, and drive towards that. Don't let every business or mill decide what kind of operating culture they will have. Get rid of the leaders who resist.

    I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time

    Pros

I've been with KC for along time and have enjoyed working with a lot of great people. K-C has good benefits, and decent pay. It is a great place to start your career.

    Cons

Company is slow to embrace change. L4 Leadership style tends to be very hierarchical and promotions can be based more on what these leaders believe about an employee instead of actual performance. Limited development and growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to connect with employees, spend time listening to what they have to share about the challenges in how they work. Then commit to making real changes to make a difference.

    Pros

    The people , the products

    Cons

NO real vision-controlled by consultants-sales management has progressively gotten worse- current is example-short term for personal gain.

    Advice to Management

take care of your best asset- the people. Don't bog down with looking over shoulder for next best thing

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Team members are great, very safety conscious,

    Cons

Work Life balance is a joke, if your machine is down you live on site. Job perks and special benefits are reserved for Roswell and Neenah, production sites are pretty much ignored. HUGE divide between leadership and engineering. Leadership seems focused on their own plans and motivating the hourly employees, engineers are basically swept under the rug. No upward mobility, career moves are all lateral.

    Advice to Management

Stop managing and try leading for a change. You've asked the engineers what was wrong, we answered so now act on it.

I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people in the office and solid benefits (though not as great as they once were).

    Cons

Limited opportunities to advance within the regional office locations. You must be willing and able to move to either Neenah, WI or Roswell, GA. Salary range is on the low end for the marketplace, and incentives are difficult to achieve as the company does little to invest in innovation and new products that the customer is asking for. Challenging.

    Advice to Management

Worry more about what changes and innovations that can be immediately impacted to re-establish these great brands at the Retail shelf. Too many instances where we are concentrating too much on Wall Street instead of High Street. The customer is the decision maker, and much too often no one is listening to the voice of the customer.
