I have been working at Kimberly-Clark full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a legendary company with really strong business lines. They have built with trust throughout the years and it takes time. It has the opposite effect as well: when you have people stuck in the past, it's difficult to progress and see innovation. Either way, this mindset can kill you in our days. However, the culture, people, and everything is really valuable. I would totally recommend the company but obviously, this is my experience. My work is IT focused so expect long hours sometimes, as usual, working in this sector.
I value a lot the work flexibility as they are really open with that. Of course, if you are committed with your work I have to say.

    Cons

Really old school leaders with no updates in the knowledge they have. This is changing day by day I have to say. The mindset is really old school. As usual in IT, work times can be long. However, this is nothing new in IT. In other sectors, you can do an average of 60-70 hours of work per week. This is not happening in KC.
I have to say some people are really lazy and sometimes it can be frustrating. But as I've said, I've seen the same in another companies so it's the usual.

    Advice to Management

Change the mindset and the culture to a more IT corporation. Include technology in everything you do. Some leaders should recycle or be recycled as well. You can't have people in your management thinking "the cloud" is a new washing machine.

    I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time

    Pros

The colleagues and location. I'm not sure what else to say!

    Cons

KC has gradually gone down hill. When I joined nearly 10 years ago it was a place where I'd look forward to coming in to every day. You could have a laugh with your colleagues whilst still going above and beyond and getting all of your work done.
Gradually people were pushed out of the business, attitudes changed, the sense of community diminished and the office became filled with temps due to cost cuttings. I would have once recommended working at KC however, you only get far and further your career here if you get close and friendly with management.
Overtime is expected, however unpaid. Called in to work on my day off and didn't feel I could say no. This was never even recognised!

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff - show a genuine interest!

    Flexible working
    Work-life balance
    Good maternity cover
Additional benefits if you stay over 10 years with KC

    Cons

Leadership team is extremely short-sighted and pursue their own goals
No or very slow career progression for majority unless you've got a good 'sponsor'

    Advice to Management

Think about people and business first otherwise you'll end up in a sinking ship

I worked at Kimberly-Clark (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Time off, work mates and exit

    Cons

A culture of bullying and intimidation. The management are convinced that it is a fantastic place to work and are aghast when survey after survey tells them otherwise. Rather than try and fix the things that are wrong they cover the walls with "Great place to work" propaganda and think that does the trick.

    Advice to Management

Rather than squeezing and crushing your workforce and slashing essential spending to increase profits on ever declining market shares, resign and let somebody who knows how to build a competitive company take charge. There is only so much furniture you can burn!

    I worked at Kimberly-Clark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Multicultural environment, fun with diversity of people, representation from all of Europe in office. Good way of learning of international work.

    Cons

The unrealistic workloads caused such high levels of stress it was physically and mentally numbing, ruined Brighton for me. Ridiculously low salary for the amount of work expected, unpaid overtime all the time. Bullying by management, was made feel isolated, caused awful deeply unhealthy office politics. No help or support offered ever, not with workload or from HR with management.

    Advice to Management

Adhere to own ethical guidelines... the KC behaviours have to start with yourselves.
