    "Bad Manager"

I worked at Kimco Realty full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, generous PTO, stock payout, and strong c-executives.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive. Regional, internal promotions are not based on hard work or dedication, but based on who you are friends with.

    Advice to Management

Bad regional manager who micromanages, sets unrealistic deadlines, and fails to be a leader. There is no need to have staff members get you coffee or order/deliver you lunch; using the IM "tag" feature as a time card; and not allowing ANY personal phone calls (cell phone) during business hours. Environment is hostile, and the reason for the consistent turnover.

I have been working at Kimco Realty full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is great to work for. They have the right idea for its employees but not having the right management staff discredits this company.

    Cons

Management choice is poor as they go by favortism. The managers they've chosen are loud, rude and inconsiderate. It's their way or no way. Management gossips about employees business to one another. Some managers are micro managers and are very controlling.

    Advice to Management

Be more considerate of your employees, their personal business and job success instead of your personal egos and gains.

I have been working at Kimco Realty full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company does not wait for you to accrue your PTO, you can use prior to YE.

    Cons

A great deal of paperwork to muddle through on day to day basis. This effects productivity.

    Advice to Management

Micro managing does not allow your employees to flourish. Cannot be creative, processes are set in place.

    Pros

Quarterly skill path classes, teams outings, generous PTO and sick days.

    Cons

Lack of skilled management, corporate politics, outsourcing our jobs to India, No chance to promote, although undeserving people get promoted to management without required to take management skill courses. Lots and Lots of favortism.

    Advice to Management

Be more appreciative of those doing the work instead of those passing the work off as their own. QUIT OUTSOURCING!

I have been working at Kimco Realty full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Love the company and staff. Great place to work.

    Cons

There should be systems in place that everyone has to follow, including Management.

    Advice to Management

During recent cuts, positions were eliminated. In the future Company should consider eliminating those employees that are costing them money by lack of productivity. Especially those that are in management or those with obvious issues that should be addressed to ensure the moral of the office. Ignoring issues, while letting go of those that are an asset, will eventually cause a large concern.

I have been working at Kimco Realty full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I got to work on some big projects in a very upscale environment.

    Cons

Kimco purchased Suburban Square right before the market crashed. They treated he property like the strip malls they own all over the country rather than the historic destination property it is. I went out on disability for shoulder and back issues. That part was my fault. I tried harder than I should have.

    Advice to Management

Sell the property to someone that will be a steward to it rather than squeeze as much out of it as possible.
