I worked at Kimco Realty (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, stock options, vacation time, and strong c-suite executives

Middle management can be hit or miss depending on who you report to (I had a great manager but know of others not so great)

A progressive company always looking to improve and willing to take suggestions from all employees

    Cons

Salary - Kimco has very high standards for its employees and the rate of pay does not always match up with the work expectations

Lack of growth - There are a lot of long term employees 10+ years which is good for the company but makes it difficult for others to grow

I worked at Kimco Realty full-time

    Pros

Compensation is good and room to work independently. The brand recognition of the company helps working with external stakeholders.

    Cons

Political fighting in upper management and nepotism. The company feels like a family business despite being listed on NYSE.

    Advice to Management

Focus on acquiring new talent should be the highest priority. The company talent has either been with the company way too long or un-competitive as compared to other firms.

    Pros

Great Benefits, 401(k) match, generous PTO, Solid mentors, great working environment with friendly group environment. Very family friendly.

I worked at Kimco and I had a great working experience overall! Did accounting & analysis for various mall properties.

I've been told that your experience at Kimco highly depends on what group and bosses you end up with, so do your homework before applying, if you can.

    Cons

Repetitive workload, deadline oriented, Hard to earn advancement (People tend to stay in the same roles for years).

Sometimes tough to see eye to eye with management.

I have been working at Kimco Realty full-time

    Pros

Professional co-workers, modern technology, well stocked with supplies and equipment, coffee and bagels, staff appreciation events

    Cons

Paper work heavy, too many people involved in every transaction, new hires start as temps and wait months, years to be hired with benefits.

    Advice to Management

Create a pipeline of future managers by having assistants for each position, training to become upper level.

I worked at Kimco Realty as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

As a temporary administrative worker, I was given direction and support as well as independence to do my work. The staff is professional and friendly. Upper management is accessible and recognizes your performance. The female staff have bonded through lunchtime on-site yoga classes. Keurig coffeemaker with a variety of tea & coffees is a nice perk.

    Cons

Could use more computer equipment. Heavy amounts of paperwork to be processed.

    Advice to Management

See if you can streamline the paperwork and get more IT equipment on site.

    Pros

They offer great benefits to full time employees. Good medical, dental and other perks. Medical insurance here is well subsidized by the company. Your payments for your premiums are low-even for the whole family

    Cons

The salary could be higher. I believe there should be more opportunity to advance in the company. You usually start off with the company as a temporary employee, then hope that there is an opening to move to permanent status. When you're a full time employee, you are then eligible to receive a wide variety of benefits. The New York employees seem to have more perks than the other branches across the country.

    Advice to Management

they need to be more involved with the day to day operations and see what's going on
