    Pros

Strong company with well established code of ethics and integrity. Management expects employees to be open about issues.

    Cons

Limited upward mobility. What ever job you currently have, you may have for many-many years to come.

    Advice to Management

Provide long term career growth planning and technical training.

  3. "Great company"

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Stability, co-workers, challenging, benefits, and so much more. This company offers so much. They look at potential snd turn it into reality. Whether employee or financially related.

    Cons

With all the acquisitions of this company it is VERY segmented. It is as if they don't assimilate the new acquisitions to make it easy to divest.

    Advice to Management

Set the bar. Consolidate processes across all of the acquisitions.

I worked at Kinder Morgan full-time

    Pros

Team is tight and supportive. Because they are in the same trench dealing with the same shrapnel.

    Cons

So-called "company culture" encourages you to make yourself a doormat. And when you do, it still won't help you advance. Arrogant, pontificating management obsessed with the image of professionalism, not the improvement of the company. Full of ex-Enron employees who wax poetic about the "good old days". Micromanagement, constant second guessing, and dumbing down complex situations for management to digest... and they still make the wrong decision.

    Advice to Management

Instead of doing more with less, do a lot more with more.

I worked at Kinder Morgan full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed the transition from GATX to Kinder Morgan except for the fact that my age made the retirement transition not worth the 21 years I had put into GATX

    Cons

I am sorry the transition came at a time when I was suffering a personal crisis. It would have been better with GATX

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive of the business you take over.

I have been working at Kinder Morgan full-time

    Pros

You get paid overtime after 8 hours, and your shifts are 12 hour shifts so you get 45 hours of overtime each day.

    Cons

I truly have nothing i dont dislike. I mean the 2-3-3 schedule is definably something to get used to, but its worth it.
