I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have air conditioning and the cafeteria is cheap with decent food. The hospital is relatively new but it's hard to tell since it is not kept up well.

    Cons

Management is terrible, no one knows what they are doing, hospital is filthy, no one cares about the employees, corporate kindred is very cheap they have taken away most employee benefits that were once enjoyed. The hospital is located in a very impoverished and dangerous area with zero security for the staff. Be prepared to work with people who are constantly changing their mind of what they want, not notifying people of the changes and then writing you up for not following the new policies. The management is very segmented with each person touting their own rules and very disjointed, most staff are fearful to speak up with issues for fear of retribution. The 401k matching is virtually nothing, benefits are terrible. My advice... stay away and seek employment somewhere else!

    Advice to Management

Take a better interest in the employees and train your leaders how to be leaders.

I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A steady pay check. low cost cafeteria food. PTO, I had Very Nice Coworkers. I have nothing else good to say about being employed here.

    Cons

I have never worked for an organization with no Policy, procedures, or Orientation. First day here are your 20 cases now go to the meeting and report on these patients. I did not even get a hospital tour. Its bad when you have to flag down someone and ask them wheres the bathroom. The manager came in late and left early many days. While I would work 12 hrs trying to orient myself and finish my daily work. It was a salaried position so I was only paid for 8. I was told by my bosses boss that I just came at a bad time. I gave my notice a week after that.

    Advice to Management

Don't expect your worker bees to be more productive than you are.

    Pros

Salary amount was good but other than that the company does not treat it's employees with dignity and respect. They care more about the bottom dollar.

    Cons

High turnover rate at the Kindred North facility. Management does not train it's employees and will look at you for any mistakes made.

    Advice to Management

    Does not train new hires.

I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay and the facility is nice

    Cons

The worst management team you can imagine. you will rise to the top if you can get in the popular clicks but otherwise, you are treated like a child and watched every minute of your shift. Timed restroom breaks and constant monitoring of your every breath. Management more concerned about making numbers appear good than treating their employees with respect

    Advice to Management

Please start treating highly-educated, professional adults like the professional adults they are and not like a 3 year old who has no idea how to even tie their shoes. Stop the relentless badgering of salaried employees when they need to use the restroom or to get up and take a break. This is the worst possible environment for customer-service employees to feel like they are appreciated by the actions of management.

    Pros

The pay is way above average. They are on the cutting edge of technology. Lots of support and money for marketing events.

    Cons

If you don't move patients in you are out of ther. High stress sales position. Feel like car salesman most of the time.

    Advice to Management

Need to be more patient focused and the referrals will come. Look at the big picture very near sighted.
