I have been working at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Depending on the job they can pay quite well for employees in positions that are hard to fill.

    Cons

Over worked because the company runs such a thin margin of employees to the number of projects it needs to accomplish.

I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The patients smile after therapy and them telling that they're going to miss you after discharge of hospital.

    Cons

Nursibg takibg for ever to clean patients, answering call light and the lack of management of disciplining they're nursing staff.

    Advice to Management

When something is reported you should take care of the concern patients and family have..Not try to cover it up or brush it off we have jobs because of them....

I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Got to meet some amazing people, who taught me a lot.

    Cons

The company is out to make a quick buck, however it can. The company does not care about the patients coming through the door, or for it's staff...driving away a lot of seasoned professionals that were amazing at what they did.

I have been working at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Self schedule, self schedule, self schedule

    Cons

Benifits are a far cry from actually being Benifits. Cancels. Over worked, under appreciated. I've seen the CEO 2 times since she has been employed at this facility.

    Advice to Management

GIVE A CRAP ABOUT YOUR NURSES! Happy nurses = Happy patients = higher CMS reimbursements.
Get off your calculators and get in the units and see what's really going on in the hospital. And NO, a 2 hour meeting doesn't solve things.

I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Very good systems for tracking and policies and procedures.

    Cons

The message was never clear, it was always about census and numbers more then anything else. When you did good and had good numbers they wanted more.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to create things on a month to month base, get people in place stick to a plan and let the people work to that plan

I have been working at Kindred Healthcare part-time

    Pros

It is a friendly environment working with nice people. There's a lot of freedom as long as you get the job done.

    Cons

The people I work with are older and so we don't share similar interests. Sitting at my desk all day just isn't for me.

    Advice to Management

Change up the working environment. Have more employee engagement. Top management should get to know the people working in even the lowest ranked positions.
