I have been working at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Made own hours (though somewhat dictated by physicians hours), very flexible, great salary, work consisted mostly of driving between offices, having conversations with physicians and social workers and leading community events.

    Cons

Unrealistic bonus goals in some areas. They seem to have a tendency to be flat, so a territory with 10 hospitals has a commissionable goal of 20 while a small rural area with 1 hospital has a goal of 20. MAYBE 18.

    Advice to Management

The company has had quite a few issues in my experience with staffing and insurance contracts. Be understanding about how seriously that can impact the field teams.

I have been working at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Kindred takes great care of their employees with competitive rates. Vast resources on KNECT for clinical knowledge. Plenty of opportunities for growth within the company

    Cons

Always appears that the people who are promoted come from outside of the organization.

    Advice to Management

Ground level employees are the base for growth. Continue to keep them happy, and I would anticipate growth to continue.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The staff is really great, licensed nurse and RNs are very hands on. Excellent customer service.

    Cons

Low rate, and very overwhelming work load at times when you are short staff.
Nurses are the phlebotomist, wound care, case managers, CNA's

    Advice to Management

Administration doesn't listen to their staff.
Employee satisfaction rate decreased, Patient survey was also low, Hospital acquired infection going up. And they wonder why???? They have a good workers, HARD WORKING nurses. Nursing shortage can be solved by not getting them overwhelmed and paying them right.
