I have been working at King Soopers part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you do not mind the everyday BS of not having the help it is ok to work for.

    Cons

Never any help as far as baggers and cashiers and other areas of the store are short handed. Customers have to bag their own groceries all the time. Always getting breaks and lunches late or not at all half of the time. Head clerks are almost always on registers or not at all running the front end like they should

I have been working at King Soopers part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Moving up and around departments is attainable. Vacation time and raises are available after a certain period of time. The union is there when you need them.

    Cons

Little training. At time I wasn't sure what was expected of me. Team work is lacking. It's pretty much "every man for himself." Hours and shift requests are based on seniority, so if you need a day off for personal time, it can be hard to get when just starting out.

    Advice to Management

Encourage more team work between associates. There is a lot of gossip behind people's backs.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

10% employee discount, caring and patient supervisors, kind coworkers, very helpful people, gives 20+ hours per week guaranteed, union workplace

    Cons

Scheduling not always flexible, training could be improved, customers can be annoying, but mostly a good place to work, especially for a first job

I worked at King Soopers full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Quick promotions for people who work hard, Fast paced environment, one learns a lot about oneself while dealing with the public, pays well when you get into management.

    Cons

As you progress into higher management roles one begins to realize that the company is struggling to foster a culture of inspiration and passion. They are very focused on micromanaging day-to-day routines. Working nights and weekends is not for some.

    Advice to Management

Let people innovate. The current direction you are going is one that stifles creativity and ultimately reduces any passion for the business.

I worked at King Soopers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Almost $20 an hour; union; very hard to get fired

    Cons

Work anywhere from 8am to 12am multiple times a week; store managers can be cool or they can be terrible; schedule comes out 2 days before the next work week so planning things outside of work is hard.

I worked at King Soopers part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get 2 weeks worth of schedules so you can plan a "life". If this is your first job you can really make a career of it because you don't have to get 2-3 jobs just to live.

    Cons

They will schedule you the bare minimum and then make you work more so having a life is not an option. Don't expect a lot of hours because if it's not a busy store or you are bottom seniority you will get 20-24. I had to practically beg them to give me the proper equipment just to do my job. You are supposed to get 2 shirts and they only gave me 1. Also they say they give you hours for similar work over the past 10 years, well they didn't give me the hours and I could never get that fixed because the only person that could fix it was only there 2 days a week in the morning and never when I'm there.

    Advice to Management

Don't have the secretary work 2 stores and don't have just a sink or swim mentality with the new hires.

I worked at King Soopers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved working with flowers, and the customers.

    Cons

Pay is too low for floral clerk. Dept. Manager passes her mistakes off onto the floral clerks as if they were the ones not cleaning or organizing.

    Advice to Management

Take notice as to what is really going on, and investigate the situation

  10. "Think before apply a job."

I have been working at King Soopers part-time

    Pros

A good place to shop and low prices you can find (if you are not an employee)

    Cons

Don't work there, that's my advice. But if you want to work there, please be careful with these people, don't take any breaks or shop where you work, Go shop where else and take a break when you are at home after shift. Just work throughout the shift without anything else. Don't expect from management. You will get nothing but do the manager's order, that's it. Go look for a better job if it is for you.

    Advice to Management

Give on the job training. Stop making revenge. Give respect. Or just leave.
