    Pros

it was nice to work there. the regulars are always nice, co-workers were helpful and fun to be around, managers were fun and treated you like a person.

    Cons

Regulars are nice, but the rudest. Co-workers can get really mad when you seat them twice in a row. Sorry, I was helping them get tips. No communication between hostesses and servers, I'm not being paid to read your mind. If you need help or a break from tables tell me!. I'll do it for you.

    Advice to Management

Some need to stop being a jerk for no reason and next time you hire someone, don't lie to them saying you'll give them 5 days a week when in reality it was only 2 a week for a bout 5 hours each. No one can live on 7.50 an hour with only 10 hours a week.

I worked at King's Family Restaurant full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Met a lot of great people over almost 15 years and wouldn't change that. It was a job, worked lots of hours and made money. Used to be fair, staffed and a really fun place to work.

    Cons

    Good employees taken advantage of.
Expected to work every holiday for regular pay. Worked all weekend, every weekend.
    No benefits. At all.
Never knew when you would get off work. Only had start times.
    Severely understaffed.
Managers always being mistreated by corporate, who then took it out on hourly workers.
    Never appreciated.
New hire cooks were hired making more per hour than the couple cooks who had been there well over 10 years and always gave 100% while the new hires were incompetent and sloppy.
Finally quit due to all of the above.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your good employees and don't take advantage if you want them to stay. Example...every weekend, work 4pm-1am friday, come back in 7am saturday, understaffed then would have calloffs, end up leaving after dinner rush about 8pm, then open Sunday 530 and finally get to leave maybe 2pm. I worked this scenario more times then I can count. Hundreds of times. If your not a complainer, you will be taken advantage of.

I have been working at King's Family Restaurant part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The management team certainly has not gone downhill at this location. The new owners are fair and have good ideas. The review by another former employee was written by a bitter unhappy person who was let go for cause.

    Cons

Bitter former employees with too much time on their hands. The restaurant has done nothing but improve and grow. It will continue to do so.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and thank you for all that you do. For being understanding and hardworking. For "getting" us and having our backs.
