I have been working at Kings Island part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers that have become some of my best friends
Opportunities to get real experience in customer service.
Guests can be at times make your day with very interesting conversations that make you truly want to provide them with the best possible experience.
Supervisors most of the time make your day fun and enjoyable and help you out with anything you need.
Great Job Benefits from Cedar Fair with Free Admission, Discounts, and if you work hard enough you get rewarded.
Social scene with many people in my Department usually hanging out with each other after our shifts end either in the Park or at a Restaurant.
Conversations with other Coworkers when we are not busy truly makes the job enjoyable.
Exclusive Events either in the Department or Rides Nights with the Entire Park are awesome.
Area Supervisors check in very often and most are very approachable and nice, which makes talking to them a lot about issues or anything very easy.

    Cons

Some shifts can be excessively long.
Compared to Food, Admissions is not paid enough at all. Lowly-Food Associates are paid more than some Admissions supervisors. $8.25 as a Associate for all that we do is really excessively underpaid.
Some instances to favoritism in the department.
"He Said, She Said" Guest relations issue can make guests relations a chore sometimes with guests word given more weight than yours sometimes.
Drama with other co-workers can be very petty and annoying.
Supervisors can be overstretched and overwhelmed at times, especially when we are busy. Which makes getting assistance a chore.
Some Supervisors lack the basic training and knowledge to be in the position.

    Advice to Management

Please Give us a raise. I have talked to many Associates across Admissions and Rides, and we all feel underappreciated with how much we are paid compared to how much we do. I along with others am hoping we get a pay raise next year.

Listen to Associates, especially knowledgeable ones, for ideas, you may find solutions there.

Give Supervisors more vigorous training with a better support system for when things are getting out of hand.

I have been working at Kings Island full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked closely with upper management and worked together to create new ideas and incentives for seasonal employees. Able to have fun and still learn new things to develop my supervisory skills. Worked closely with friends and made new friends who are some of my best friends. Lots of hours if wanting to work a lot. Always able to pick up extra shifts. Get into the park for free and merchandise and food discounts, as well as free comp tickets for any cedar fair park.

    Cons

Pay is low for everything we have to deal with on a daily basis. Awful break room food.

    Advice to Management

Work on increasing the pay for seasonal employees and supervisors in the rides department. Work on getting better food and quality in the break room.

I worked at Kings Island part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cafeteria food is decent and very cheap. Friendly coworkers and a cool experience if you are 18+ and get to drive one of the larger coasters.

    Cons

Hourly pay isn't that great at 8.25 but nightly hours during Haunt in the fall get you 9.25 (as of 2016)

    Advice to Management

    Bump up the hourly wage!
