I worked at Kings Super Markets (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None that i can think of

    Cons

One of the least progressive companies out there founded on a weak infrastructure that relies on taking advantage of low-skilled workers and those who are willing to work part-time while in school. They're basically a "high end" grocery store that overprices everything in the store because they're a little cleaner, offer a little bit higher of wages, and offer some products that are a little higher in quality. King's is one of those companies that puts all their profits not going to their CEO into things like appearances and marketing to make their actual product look better than it actually is. There's very little investment back into the company and they do essentially nothing for the betterment of their employees. There's very little (if any) potential for career growth opportunities, and anyone's who's a half decent worker will be taken advantage of and have chump change thrown at them as an incentive to stay. Overall just a broken business model with many leaks that puts upper management's incompetence on the part time employees (of which the company is mostly comprised of) through cutting wages, not giving out scheduled raises, more hours, etc. If you need a part-time job for a couple months it's not the worst but i highly recommend that you do not get sucked into this dead end job.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like human beings, archaic business model and lack of investment back into company will backfire.

I worked at Kings Super Markets part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are very flexible with hours and easy to get someone to cover your shift, if needed. Most of the staff is very friendly and it feels like a community.

    Cons

Not too many cons, but sometimes the workers can be "cliquey". This was rare, however, as most of them are welcoming. At the time I was working, they were stingy about giving a raise, even after a promotion.

    Advice to Management

If promoting someone from cashier to floor manager, give a fair raise! This will make the employees work harder and respect the company.

I have been working at Kings Super Markets part-time

    Pros

There are absolutely no pros to this position whatsoever

    Cons

There are so many cons I can write down a whole list. Low pay with no advancement unless you suck up to management or stab someone in the back. That's the only way to get promoted in this company. Management is horrible with no regard for their employees personal and professional lives. Also there are a lot of politics for such a small place. Most of the managers are ignorant bullies and harrass college kids that try to better themselves. It is like walking into hell with a prison like work environment that enjoy making their employees extremely unhappy.

I worked at Kings Super Markets part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working and getting along with managers and employees. Helping out many customers and really make them feel right at home

    Cons

The most challenging thing is doing hard work. Cleaning up the mess, especially when something that spills without injuring customers

    Advice to Management

Filing an application, the manager looked over it. Called that person to conducted and the most important thing, make a good impression
