    Steady work.

    Pros

Generally able to work an 8 hour day and plan time-off. Benefits fall at an average level. If you are a programmer you get an office. Some very amazingly talented people work here.

    Cons

Very degree-centric so expect to see lots of talented people completely overlooked for some positions. Currently very micro-pay minded. Also, a very unforgiving place to run a two hour errand, generally you'll be asked to give up a half day of vacation pay.

Ceo Is Out Of Touch With A Lot Of Things. Can't Wait To Leave This Place.

    Pros

Lots of talented and friendly people to work with.

    Cons

Ceo is out of touch with the fanbases. Ceo insists on wasting resources on pointless mobile game projects. Ceo meddles with creativity far too often.

Learned a lot but executive hubris drove once profitable company into the ground.

    Pros

The people were amazing. Very little crunch. Good work/life balance. Creativity used to be king. But mostly the people are what made it a good place to work ... Excluding the execs.

    Cons

Executives. The company is being run into the ground due to ego, hubris, and an inability to make decisions. They changed business models and left a profitable game out to dry while chasing dollar signs in the mobile market without any understanding of how that market worked. Good people got fed up people got fed up people got fed up and left or were let go because they didn't toe the company line. Yes Men were rewarded. Failure was rewarded. Pay was under industry standard and advancement next to impossible.

I would make sure that KI is on the right path before applying

    Pros

-You got to work on fun and interesting projects. -We sometimes had employee organized events, little gatherings like cheese day. -No limits to creativity. -We would have game day once a year. Play games all day. -They would have game jams for a week. Little teams would create their own little games for pitching to CEO. -The financial compensation was fair. -Everybody seemed to have gotten along. I know I made some friends while there.

    Cons

-The office culture mimics a real office environment. Not a game company environment. -They are very strict on using PTO. Need an hour off? You have to use 2 hours of PTO since that is the increment structure. -Made incorrect financial decisions that ultimately ended with 80 people getting laid off. -Not having true milestones and deadlines. (If you keep extending the deadline, then they don't exist) -Hard to advance in career.

    Going down hill....

Mar 18, 2017 - Artist in Austin, TX

    Pros

-Good people to work w/ in the Austin office -They have the ability to make another great MMO -They still have one great MMO that is making them enough money to operate -There is still a lot of talent left in the studio

    Cons

-An owner that seems to be content w/ running the company into the ground B/c he is sold on the fact that they can make successful mobile games... thus far they have done nothing but fail miserably. -Management makes it feel like you always have big brother watching over you -a company culture that doesn't seem to want any fun at work -An owner who let the person who built the company up go, b/c he thought he could make games even though he has no experience doing that. -Horrible chairs for people who are sitting in them at least 8 hours a day -you actually have to pay for sodas at a video game company -It was a struggle to get an essential/standard program for our artists that cost 200 dollars...they do not seem to want to invest any money in what their employees need. -A company that was willing to let the person who made the studio successful walk and didn't really seem to care. -It's a sinking ship

    Atmosphere Needs Improving

    Jun 17, 2014 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Insurance benefits are great. The people are amazing and it's easy to develop strong friendships. The occasional team building fun days are great. The games have a wonderful community base and awesome fans.

    Cons

Job performance is not based on work product but rather spending 8 hours sitting at a desk. Crunch time is not rewarded with any form of comp time or real year end bonus. Employees are not trusted and are often treated like children.

Good people, no desire to take care of their fanbase content-wise

    Pros

    Alright work environment and people.

    Cons

One has to wonder if anyone is even interested in competitive game balance or content with a shred of innovation. Lack of creativity is suffocating.

    Pros

    - If you are driven enough, there are a lot of opportunities to get where you want to go in this company. - Much of upper management is easy to talk to and get advice from. - People are friendly - Fun environment

    Cons

    - Unnecessary crunch time that is the product of poor time management on all levels, and the peons suffer for it. - Suggestions are listened to but rarely taken advantage of, even when the issue could have a large impact. - Lack of transparency on upper level
