"Company In Decline"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at KingsIsle Entertainment full-time
Pros
There used to be pros. Now that the company is transitioning to mobile games and all the competent people left lead and management positions, the best I can say is you can live paycheck to paycheck with the below industry wage they give you.
Cons
The most sycophantic and nepotistic management I've experienced. The HQ is located in Dallas and has no clue or cares little about this issue. The company is scrambling to transition into mobile but is too cheap, incompetent, and unorganized to do it effectively. Be prepared to be treated like a child with every move you make being questioned. Managers and executives are more concerned if you took a 16 rather than a 15 minute break than your actual work. Clock in like an hourly employee even though you're salaried. Horrible PTO policy. KingsIsle purports to be a family-friendly company but they are just as dysfunctional and irrespective of work-life balance as any other AAA. Enjoy snide comments and abusive behavior from your executive producer. Passive aggression is the MO. Try making sense of their bonus system. It’s like they want to pay you just enough so you don't leave but to also say they did something. Despite meetings and talking with coworkers I still couldn't make sense of it.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at KingsIsle Entertainment full-time
Pros
I get to work on projects that are inspiring and rewarding for children. Friendly and talented coworkers. Insurance is decent. Stable.
Cons
Like many other reviewers, I agree there is a huge management problem. You are not judged based on performance and are at the mercy of egos. Orwellian, cliquish atmosphere. Unnecessary crunch due to mismanagement. The PTO policy is terrible. Every year bonuses dwindle with no clear reason. Unfair pay. Jobs are posted without consideration of the people currently occupying those positions. Contractors are treated poorly. Skims out on office equipment. I do not trust this company.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at KingsIsle Entertainment full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
KI seems to pay better than most. I have yet to see proof of this.
Cons
Unorganized amateur's in production, simpletons are promoted and bring their entire team down as a result, ridiculous timelines that are never met due to awful organizational skills, absolute nepotism in every department, worst PTO policy in the industry, uncaring senior producers. If you have children or get ill often, forget working here. If life get's in the way like your car breaking down, forget working here. They won't listen to you and you will be punished for it. It feels like working in a prison here. They don't trust you. There is no working from home. There is no extra days off because your kid is sick. No compassion what-so-ever,
