    Pros

Pay was weekly. I cannot think of any other Pros at this time.

    Cons

Management behaved in a very unprofessional, dishonest and borderline harassing manner.

I have been working at Kinsley Power Systems full-time

    Pros

Professional and positive work atmosphere. Really feels like I am part of a team. Thorough training program. Great benefits. The company believes in its core value of doing the right thing.

    Cons

The branch I am training in is a bit far from my home. The long commute is not fun..but it is only temporary.

    Advice to Management

With the company growing like it is try to keep the "family business" feel. You are doing great so far. I just hope it continues.

I have been working at Kinsley Power Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

what employees that are left are the biggest, yet most underappreciated asset of the company. Despite the overall negative atmosphere, the employees are a good group of people who band together, the same way victims of abuse console one another

    Cons

on paper, the company is a great place to work but reality is vastly different. While the company's core values include "do the right thing", this is clearly not practiced by top management and ownership

    Advice to Management

listen to the people who know what customers and employees want and actually "do the right thing"

I have been working at Kinsley Power Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great culture - best of a family business and a professional organization. Great process for running the company. Management truly cares. Not perfect but so many passionate people, they will get it right. The growth has been amazing. Customers are speaking with their $s. Employee morale survey just released -- big upswing. Future is bright. Good products, good people. Kinsley has also taken care of people when in need - tech had a fire at his home and the company raised $ for him, donated clothing. Who does that these days? Another tech passed away. The company held a golf tournament to raise $ for his family (young daughter at home). Good people at every level.

    Cons

Growth isn't for everyone. Some people haven't kept up with the standards expected at the company so there's been some turnover. Frankly, the cons are related to growing pains. I'll take that. Some process work is needed but they've hired a Continuous Improvement guy to handle once his current position is backfilled. The company does have a track record of hiring and promoting internal candidates.

    Advice to Management

Follow through on your initiatives. It's going well. I'm passionate and excited about our future here.

I have been working at Kinsley Power Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Kinsley has doubled in number of employees in the past 5 to 6 six years. The company has seen incredible growth and has managed to keep up while still making the employees feel like family. It's wonderful to work for a company who takes your ideas to heart when making changes for the future. Overall, coming to work for Kinsley was one of the best career decision I've made.

    Cons

Company growth has been fast and sometimes difficult to adjust to for some employees. There was a time period of high turn over that was difficult for everyone. It seems to be on the slow down at this point though.

    Advice to Management

Keep your employees in the loop. Make sure everyone still feels like they matter instead of another cog in the wheel, particularly as the company continues to expand.

    Pros

The company is well positioned in a high demand industry. The company has the right products and is growing. If you are willing to work, there are great opportunities for career growth. Yes, the team works hard especially during a storm/weather event. But the upside is worth the effort.

    Cons

There have been some growing pains but the company seems focused on making the needed changes.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide training for all levels within the organization.

I have been working at Kinsley Power Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Kinsley is a small family company and it shows. When I first started, there were not even nametags on the offices. Coming from a corporate envrionment, I found that great and an indicator that everyone knows one another, which is exactly the case. There are now names on all the offices to help new employees, but the phone list is still by first name! Kinsley is a company that has survived for 50 years, with the founder still coming into the office most days. It's a true success story and I love that about this company. Management isn't perfect, but I've yet to find a place where it is. I like working for a small company, where everyone works hard, but we also have fun! I really love the Halloween trick or treating with the local Kindercare children that we do every year. We also just recently had a 50th anniversary cruise on the CT River, which was a so much fun and a moving tribute to our founder. Overall, I'm happy with my decision to work for Kinsley.

    Cons

Working for a small company that is growing can come with growing pains. There are many processes that could be improved upon to make the company run more efficiently.

    Advice to Management

Continue to preserve the small company culture...it is the foundation of the company and why people enjoy working for Kinsley.

    Pros

    Great benefit package
Visionary leaders that also roll up their sleeves and get dirty in the details
    Solid industry and market opportunity
Fantastic reputation with customers and competitors alike
    Sophisticated and disciplined
Ambitious to diversify and grow intelligently

    Cons

Evolving staff, topgrading can be disruptive
Ambitions vs. the day to day workload
Limited middle management reduces effectiveness of leadership team on strategic initiatives
Customer base can be unruly and unfair with company associates, but play nice with execs

    Advice to Management

Strengthen middle management to manage the key performance metrics and establish that base for a level for the lower players to aspire to be promoted to, and give leadership the bandwidth it needs to lead the strategic side. There's too much on your plate to be the leaders we think you can be in this business and in this industry.

    Pros

Great culture with exposure to high level executives. Learn a lot about the industry. Work on impactful projects with clear end results.

    Cons

Internship program is not very structured. Must be a go getter and a thinker, otherwise you will not perform well.

    Advice to Management

Growing company, lots of upside potential, management cares about employees, very family oriented business.
