    What a Mess

    Oct 12, 2018 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

If you’re an actual full time Kipper employee (not employee through the staffing agency), the salary is great.

    Cons

The company lacks leaders/management with the right kind of education and training needed to properly lead their team. The company overall is set in their ways and refuse to look at new ways of doing things. It’s all about “this is how we’ve always done it” with no openmidness to change. The owners ultimately care about their bank account at the end of the day and seem to care less about their employees. They see everyone as dispensable and replaceable. There is a substantial lack of cohesion between the various departments as well. It’s not one team, it’s a building with several teams that are all out to get one another. No professional/structured training program for new hires. The training material is made up as they go. Ultimately, it’s a big unorganized mess of a company that does not care about their employees when it comes down to it. As far as benefits go, the health insurance is extremely expensive, there’s no 401k and no maternity leave.

    The 5 years I can't get back......

    Pros

Management training, good to know but not needed in this environment. Good learning opportunities for future business. Met some great people that were treated unfairly. Had good bonuses at first then the owner got greedy. Had a great garden when you could actually pick from it. Learned a good deal about quality while I was there. It felt good to know that you were supplying your troops with kits missing all kinds of stuff in real time scenarios.

    Cons

The pay was terrible, layoffs at any given moment, always walking on eggshells for nitwits that need an actual college degree to back there position. The place is filled with people that are from rehab programs that are favored by the "inner circle". If you don't complete this program then you are immediately terminated no matter how good of worker you are. This company was not loyal to some of there key players that made the plays happen. I was promised great promotions and never received them, I got the workload with no compensation. This place just laid off a ton of people and reduced major peoples salaries... Im laughing my rear off at the folks that stayed there and continue to be loyal to a greedy corporation. Hope you get what you deserve!!!

This place had the keys to the kingdom but....

    Pros

Supplies sets, kits, and outfits to the US Military. People in the sales get to deal with servicemen and women and that is a great feeling; it's like you are supporting your country. The owners spring for major sports tickets like the Masters each year and a few chosen people are able to go. There were some great people who worked there but not anymore. There were great bonuses and pay raises at the beginning. You can get into management with little to no experience or education.

    Cons

Most of upper management had no degree or prior management experience to pull from but they all graduated from the correct drug treatment program. Due to managements lack of understanding and the owners greed the company was run into the ground. They no longer hire labor but use temps at $10 so they don't have to pay benefits. Expensive insurance, no 401K, no pay raises to speak of. There is no money put back into the company. Upper management loves to tell you that you are replaceable..."Everybody is replaceable".

happy to be there, happy to be gone

    Pros

when we were going we were going well. sales were good then lost a lot of business. benefits were good when business was good then they did away with 401k and other stuff. had one manager who really cared for employees - our safety guy. other than that no one really seemed to care much after he was laid off because there was nothing to do.

    Cons

the owner is a crude person. walks around with this dog with a silly smirk on his face when there is no business. even working in sales you had to work in the warehouse. supervisors put you to work like you knew what you were doing when we had not built a kit before. lots of mistakes because of that.

A company ruined by corporate greed

    Pros

Lack of formal dress code, no suit and tie required Laid back atmosphere Military was main customer so you felt good about helping our soldiers A few company perks for sports events, if you could scrounge a ticket from the "inner circle"

    Cons

The entire company is ran around the "Inner Circle" and if you are not part of it you can forget ever being anything there Laid employees off while doing a million dollars worht of landscaping changes Forces salary to work long hours at a moments notice and if you can't for some reason you are shunned by the company Basically if you do not commit your every waking hour to the company you are a shunned employee Given vacation days and frowned upon when you try to take them, unless you are in the "inner circle" then you can play golf once a week, miss work for golf events, leave for a trade show a wek in advance, ect. ect. Many more but it would take too long to list them all
