    I worked at Kirkland's full-time

    Pros

I worked in the office and thoroughly enjoyed working there. The atmosphere was laid back. My supervisor was very easy-going, as long as you completed your work she would not give you any hassles. There was no constant looking over the shoulder. You had your choice of four start/quit times to make it convenient for you. They offered sick time as well as vacation time; something I had never had on any previous job.

    Cons

The pay did not start out well. I was there for almost three years and was making what I felt I should have started out making when I was laid off.

    Advice to Management

Do not hire outsiders to management positions. Promote from within.

    I have been working at Kirkland's part-time

    Pros

Always getting new product, keeps things fun and interesting. The team I work with is great. My schedule is flexible. I'm building a lot of great skills and habits that will help me in future jobs.

    Cons

I feel like pay should be higher for the quality and quantity of work expected of me. Also I wish I could consistently get more hours so that this could be my only job and I could really focus on it.

    Advice to Management

Don't underpay. Keep a healthy balance of employees and hours.

    Pros

Loved working their. All staff is nice and pay was decent.

    Cons

The work load they make you do is ridiculous. Between unloading the trucks and vacuuming the whole store and getting all the product out is just ridiculous.

    I worked at Kirkland's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Part-time hours usually flexible to when you're available. I worked full time & started working for Kirklands around Thanksgiving for a seasonal position. They asked me to stay on after the season had ended. This was a friendly, flexible work environment & I quite enjoyed the people I work with.
Management ALWAYS backed me up if a customer disagreed with something I did or said OR if I just wouldn't give them a discount just because they asked. This is something that meant the world to me.

    Cons

It's retail. So there's that. It comes with all the typical retail work drawbacks. Open early, close somewhat late. Irritable customers during holiday season. Cleaning store.
