You can soar high or be forgotten about. The operating model is unique and can make processing past a manager level difficult. Excellent for learning, but many people feel they are not cared for.

Sometimes pace can be too fast, decisions are made and priorities set and then they're changed upon short notice It is okay to have this to a certain extent, but since Klarna is still a fast growing company, this can become too frequent of occurrence and troublesome sometimes.

Pros

I worked at Klarna for just over a year. In my time there I was able to thoroughly be immersed in B2B sales and learn a ton about the eCommerce space. You work with exciting companies and there is potential for personal growth. Worked with an amazing team who all worked hard and continuously wanted to please management and impress the top dogs. Great work life balance, PTO, parental leave, and a decent starting salary. They provide you with the right tools and equipment you need to successfully execute your job. There were a lot of travel opportunities and they created amazing camaraderie amongst teams with the company culture.

Cons

The start up culture created a fast paced environment which unfortunately caught up to them. The CEO and all of management is too caught up in being the same as the competition which made us feel like we were dogs chasing our own tail, it was fun but always chasing. Does not have a sales oriented mindset which created a disconnection between the sales and marketing teams. Internal communication was terrible. Impulsive decisions made by the higher ups without anyone telling them to consider the consequences have led them to a pivotal point in the success of the company. They have the talent and people willing to work hard but don't know how to execute. Sometimes it felt like they spent money to literally just spend it. There was no real budget, and they are too busy trying to look like a cool brand rather than running a great company

Ambitious, talented, and helpful colleagues. Great atmosphere! Klarna is moving in a fast pace and encourages employees to learn quickly and develop their skills continuously. The career opportunities are great since we are growing so fast and new positions appear regularly.

Things can sometimes move a little too fast, affecting the inhouse communication.

Disregard for long-term team structures (people being moved across org often and with little to no prep). Hard to find ownership of certain important topics.

A dynamic work environment with fast pace and high expectations - in return you are able to have a large impact on projects, business objectives, etc. Great colleagues and development opportunities.

It will only work for everyone. Unmotivated and non-stress resistant people without the ability to take ownership of getting things done will not like the environment.
