Great ENTRY level pay but not for people with experience. The people in the terminals will be like your extended family and they'll make it a tough decision to leave when you quit because you'll love them. The driver managers, DDMs, terminal managers, drivers, etc - they're amazing people. No negative things to say about the company at the terminal level. This company was stable during the pandemic and allowed remote work THEN. You do have the ability to move to any state they have a terminal in IF there's an open position. Great conflict resolution training. LOTS of positions to move around in and grow into if youre just looking for experience.

Horrendous pay. Less than okay work life balance. The saddest benefits you'll ever have (if you can even call them Benefits 7500 max out of pocket for a single person health insurance that costs an arm and a leg). No ability to work remotely no matter what they tell you unless COVID is running rampant in your neck of the woods. This company does nothing to embrace or uplift diversity - so depressing. The CEO could do much better when it comes to taking care of his workforce below the Director of Operation's level.

Micro management, very dictorial, leadership is not the best. They pay new hires much more than valued employees. No such thing as an HR group. Very much a man’s company.

With previous transportation experience I joined Knight within the past year. I immediately noticed a high level of commitment and dedication from every employee I met. Training was in depth and extremely helpful. I shadowed and met leaders in each department which allowed me to understand how every department fits together to provide the best possible customer service to our customers. Every leader I met started in different departments and had been promoted from within. They had worked all over the company and had a deep understanding of our business, competition and goals. This organization’s leaders are innovative and are always working to find improvements. Any examples I shared from my previous experience were welcomed and discussed. I felt like I had made an immediate impact on this large Phoenix based company. I joined this company for the opportunity it provided me so I could continue growing as a transportation professional. It was a relief to be surrounded by professionals who, like me, prefer a fast paced, engaging and ever-changing customer facing transportation industry.

Cons

24/7 industry because freight never sleeps. Knight does have an elite overnight and weekend team that helps provide a better work/life balance than my previous employer.

No work life balance. I was told that I was given a laptop to work from home after working 7-5 that day. No holidays off, and work a weekend a month.
