    I worked at Knorr-Bremse full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The day-to-day work atmosphere was very positive. People got along well with each other and there was a good sense of teamwork. Most everyone really tried to do a good job and support the needs of the company's customer base. Management was very approachable.

    Cons

The main negative aspect for me was the company's total lack of a formal performance and salary review system for salaried employees. Everyone who was salaried was forced to work for years and years with no raises or cost-of-living increases. Any time raises were mentioned the management always had some excuse as to why no raises were available even though the company was profitable. The company relocated from Ball Ground, GA to Mount Olive, NJ after the original organization (Transtechnik Corp. USA) was purchased by Knorr-Bremse.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that your employees don't come to work every day just for the fun of it. Everyone has bills to pay and commitments to meet. Show your appreciation for good work by giving raises based upon performance on a regular annual basis.

I have been working at Knorr-Bremse full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, located away from busy Atlanta in north Cherokee County, so no traffic congestion to work. Great relationship with coworkers.

    Cons

Sometimes long hours required to meet urgent deadlines. Insurances costs have risen very high while deductibles have also risen, but this probably true for most all companies. Company is moving to NJ.

    Advice to Management

Try to improve insurance costs and coverage.
