I have been working at Knowledge Adventure full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fully stocked kitchen, fun activities throughout the year. Fellow co workers are friendly and easy to get along with, a lot of talented and passionate people. The brands are all fun to work on. Benefits are great, fully covered medical, vision, and dental, 401k, etc.

    Cons

Executives bite more than they can chew and are always making promises they can't keep and end up taking it out on their employees. Management has made their employees cry many times as they belittle them and use gaslighting techniques to manipulate them. Nepotism runs rampant, and you can see the clear preferential treatment for those related to the CEO. They hire and under pay interns and expect them to do work that would not be considered intern work anywhere else. Management embraces key words and run with them without having any knowledge of the field. They micro manage and do not trust their employers, it creates a toxic environment for everyone and the tension can be felt on a daily basis. Management talks bad about their employees to each other and try to cultivate a solitary environment so no one can discuss their experience with each other.

I worked at Knowledge Adventure full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some genuinely nice people. Fun events. Great place to be an intern or a producer. The school of dragons product could be huge given the correct attention to quality and resources allocated.

    Cons

Aiming high but shooting low. CEO selling goals the company can't reach. Design dept needs to be allowed to develop and be given the resources to produce the quality products. Huge reliance on reskinning previous products. Heavy reliance on incompetent outsourcing adding unnecessary stress for the entire team and much wasted time. Much of the game design and major design decisions being done by producers and exec team - not a company to be a designer.

I worked at Knowledge Adventure full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Fun activities (that add hours to your work day), free snacks, great healthcare benefits and 401K matching

    Cons

They've all been said here before. No real long-term planning, selling out the JumpStart brand to try and make a quick buck, disappointing revenues on terrible products for years and years. I worked here for over 7 years and received one pay raise, was laid off with no explanation or justification. Totally stalled my career/life growth. Biggest waste of 7 years...

I worked at Knowledge Adventure full-time for less than a year

    Pros

5% 401K match pretty much sums this up.

    Cons

Office politics overshadow talent, constructive feedback and pretty much everything else here. The 'Process" is highly disorganized and I use the term "process" VERY loosely here. People working insane hours because the volume projects they're trying to tackle far exceeds the actual humane production power of this studio which leads to extremely poor quality of the actual product. Salaries on the very low end to the point where people hold 2nd jobs on the weekends. I mean WHAT? If you're being productive and working all day while others are goofing off and actually want to then leave on time to spend time with your family, you will be guilted and called out for leaving "early" - just one example. Basically nothing but straight up, cut and dried BS here from morning until night with the expectation of people having zero life outside the office for below-industry-average pay. Couldn't get out of this place fast enough!

    Cons

Just to reiterate: -Incompetent executives -False promises -Lack creative vision -Volume, not quality centric development -Feels like a family owned business in a negative way There have been 3 major layoffs in a year so that pretty says it.

    Pros

decent ideals and mission on paper hardworking worker bees. to my fellow bees, good luck. you will need it. good pr and business partners

    Cons

lack of clear direction lack of original thinking at all levels top down management - orders come from the top and team scurries around without thinking about what they are being asked to do boys club -- the more you drink, the better your chances of succeeding. no wonder there are absolutely no female executives at the company -- they all left in the last 9 months. nepotism. false promises.

    I worked at Knowledge Adventure

    Pros

The mini snack room is the only good thing... Not even a great choice, but at least the water is free...

    Cons

Was hired a couple of months ago to only get laid off... (WHY HIRE THEN?) Company laid off about 1/3 of their employees because their products were beyond terrible. The employees paid the price for managements' mistakes... DO NOT EVER WORK HERE. THEY WILL LAY YOU OFF TOO!

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Knowledge Adventure full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The people here are really talented, nice, and friendly. Most of the employees has been working for them for more than 10 years. Fun and easy company culture with parties once every few months. Good work-life balance ( for most people)

    Cons

Limited career growth opportunities. Pay and benefits are average. Moving most of the programming jobs overseas which reduced productivity and also the sense of job stability for the US employees.

    I worked at Knowledge Adventure

    Pros

The people & supervisors were great! Feedback was given often on performance, interns were invited to company meetings, and some of my duties included getting product reviews, product testing, coordinating contests, and writing blog entries. Interns were always invited to share their ideas and input on things going on in the company. The environment was very welcome and friendly. There's also great company perks like a kitchen of food for employees and when there's company meetings, there's fun activities to get to know everyone better. Also, as a student, my supervisor was very flexible with giving me days off/letting me come in late/leave early due to exams and other school commitments.

    Cons

Sometimes the work does get repetitive and boring. It's also SUPER quiet in the office.
