I have been working at Kobrand Wine and Spirits full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Takes wonderful care of its employees and their families
Family-owned/Privately held so good decisions are made for the long term (vs. bad decisions to hit quarterly numbers at other companies)
Rare and valuable institutional memory from so many very long-tenured key employees
Smart, principled, hard-working, and fun colleagues with no office politics
Unparalleled brand portfolio in terms of quality and reputation

    Cons

No cons, but it's not the right fit for everyone - truly a team atmosphere

    Advice to Management

Stick with your approach, it's what makes Kobrand so special

I worked at Kobrand Wine and Spirits full-time

    Pros

It's a true 9-5 job if you want it to be - people get in literally at 9 and leave at five.

    Cons

There are a lot of strange things that happen at the company, and, from a marketing perspective, there is a huge lack of communication and expertise. Some strange things:

    * There is no product allowance, rather you can purchase product at a discount every quarter (I've never found another alcohol company that operates like this).
    * You literally clock in. HR literally checks when you clock in and out. And calls you out if you don't work a certain amount of hours (despite working at home regularly after work hours).
    * I've seen certain employees try to discreetly record conversations. Really odd.

    Advice to Management

You hire people because they're experts in a field. Listen to them. You have high turnover for a reason!

I have been working at Kobrand Wine and Spirits full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice family-oriented corporation who cares for employees' welfare as it does for corporate welfare.

    Cons

Definitely not for job-seekers looking to work in a country-club environment.

    Advice to Management

Continue watching after employees' wellbeing in all facets of corporate culture from work-life to health benefits and to retirement plans.

I have been working at Kobrand Wine and Spirits full-time

    Pros

Healthy culture - run by mature professional adults! Criticism phrased as "how can we grow?" not "whose fault is it?" Very open-door management. Amazing product portfolio. Not too many late hours - good work/life balance. Emphasis on promoting from within.

    Cons

Smaller organization means no guaranteed timing of promotions. Margin constraints within wine industry overall limits what can be done to grow the brands.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Disciplined approach to market via quality and well organized systems. this is a data rich company but one with a strong culture of the data being converted to actionable information to make quality decisions.

    Cons

People who don't want to work hard and smart to grow a career here don't do well. Promotions and compensation growth are 100% a function of delivering on goals and initiatives.

    Advice to Management

Keep the innovation movement going full force.

I have been working at Kobrand Wine and Spirits full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Kobrand is one of the best companies in the industry to work for. Having worked at other wine and spirits companies I can say that Kobrand is a true family company that puts an emphasis on their employees. The employees, at all levels, are friendly and easy to work with. Kobrand is a leader in the industry and is well-respected by the trade, media, and other companies.

    Cons

Many employees stay at Kobrand for years so jobs open up infrequently. This is a negative if you are looking for a position in a specific department and it currently is not open.
