    Disappointing

    Aug 12, 2017 - Field Service Engineer

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great group of people to work with. Field Tech position offered a good bit of freedom with hours and work from home opportunities.

    Cons

Sad that everyone hangs their head low with the same outlook on the future of the company. After waves of layoffs and empty promises, they cant be to sure. Pay was not competitive for the duties that were expected of you, but they justified it with overtime. Overtime was used to much and due to the layoffs that even got worse.

Thanks for your feedback. It is always nice to hear that our people are great to work with… Our business model for servicing our products in the field needed to change to match the reality of the equipment that is now being serviced. Our pay rates are indeed competitive for this new service model. Overtime is required under some circumstances but we make every attempt to use it judiciously. The customer contracts, distance from customers and general ebb and flow of the business can drive overtime. -Paul (Human Resources)

    Dubious future

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    Great people to work with.

    Cons

Future very uncertain. Hardcopy output is where they make $$ and people are less and less of that. Aging workforce and shrinking company has propelled a "look out for #1" attitude. Senior managers care about themselves and not anyone else. Benefits are NOT at industry par despite how they try to spin it.

    Talent Acquisition Manager

We think the future looks bright for Kodak Alaris…. maybe you have not noticed but we have added roughly 200 new employees in software, sales, service, hardware, and other roles and we currently plan to fill 100 more positions just in the US in the next year as part of evolving the business and culture of our company. Thank you for supporting our CEO in your review. Our senior leaders have an open door policy and regularly connect with employees at live meetings for updates, feedback and ideas to deliver our bright future. In fact, our CEO, business presidents and COO host networking opportunities with early career employees who are in the Rochester area (a group that is past 75 people). - Lisa Days

Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. That's great that you're enjoying your internship with us! If you have additional time -- as it sounds like you might -- we could use your help on the Employee Engagement Team. Please let me know if you want to become a member. As many of our experienced employees continue to retire in the next few years, this gives us an opportunity to refresh our workforce through recruitment of new employees. In fact, 44% of our hires this year are less than 15 years into their careers. Take care, -Brennan (Head of Internal Communication)

    Pros

-As far as retail jobs go, helping people print photos is generally a great experience -Training is provided on how to clean and maintain photo printers

    Cons

-In my district, payroll and HR was done through a staffing agency. This made the employee turnover relatively high.

    Talent Acquisition Manager

Thank you for your review. Our pay and benefits are competitive with the marketplace for companies our size so it is good that you recognized this fact ... we don't always get credit for this! Regarding layers of management, we recently reviewed this as part of our transformation initiative. We discovered that many of our managers and supervisors are not just managing people but they are also doing individual contributor work, making them dual focused. We will flatten the structure where it makes sense but we do not want to do so blindly just to make a number.
