Thank you for your years of service! And thank you for taking the time to offer some feedback. Your efforts were definitely appreciated - I'm sure especially by the stores you supported.

I have been working at Kohl's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible Scheduling, great vacation benefits, floating holiday days, you still can get a associate discount on any merchandise you buy

    Cons

Holidays suck, corporate doesn't understand the amount of hours needed to do projects, expect most of the work to be done on your own time, no understanding from upper management

I worked at Kohl's (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to engage with people, learn different departments, and gain plenty of multitasking skills.

    Cons

Some rude upper management and prejudice. They were very unorganized and didn't respect our time. We were constantly asked to trade and take on other shifts at the very last minute. Certain employees were allowed to just slip by while others were heavily reprimanded for doing the same things.

    Advice to Management

Talk to their employees instead of at them. That would get a whole lot more accomplished. At the end of the day everyone is human and deserves respect.

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I imagine experience can vary greatly from one location to the next but at my store location in Chicago, IL (Bucktown) the supervisors and management were great to work with; always understanding about scheduling around peoples personal lives or second jobs. The Store Manager even got everyone a raise several months before the minimum wage went up in the city.

For the corporate culture and values are reasonable and positive without making you feel as though they want you to "drink the kool-aid".

    Cons

As a part-time retail job a lot of the employees are just there screwing around, which is common in any similar store setting but can be irritating for people who to their job (any job) seriously.

I have been working at Kohl's (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Kohls treats its employees fairly. They are great at working around student schedules and are fair at giving asked for time off.

    Cons

Sometimes they do not offer the best training to their employees. At times you may have to learn as you go along on the job. And when you need assistance from the manager on duty, they may not be available.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible when you need time off.

    Cons

Use to give vacation to part time employees, based on hours worked. Decided to cut that program. Not many benefits.

    Advice to Management

Need more extensive training of new employees. Should try having new employees shadowing older employees.
