I have been working at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Schedule flexibility. If you are a student this a great place to work if you trying to pay for college. They're very understanding with your school schedule and still manage to give you good amount hours base on your needs .

    Cons

Compensation . Kohls has great people working for them , but they're not being rewarded enough . People take on more tasks then they should be taking for a low amount a pay. This company has great goals they want to achieve, but they have to make sure to take care of their loyal workers by paying them well

I worked at Kohl's (More than a year)

    Pros

The associates are nice, not the managers

    Cons

Bad pay, hours based on solicitation of credit cards.

    Advice to Management

They should learn how to be nice and figure out how to do their jobs before they rant

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For the most part everyone was helpful and friendly. Discount was good and pay was decent.

    Cons

I was hired for seasonal and they didn't mention they do not hire anyone after the season ends. Managers play favorites and will make you feel very uncomfortable if one of the favorites don't like you.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend training your cashiers better in the stock room area it was important to know. Also keeping more of an eye on supervisors I would also seriously recommend.

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are few pros I had about working here. One of the good things was that half of the people I worked with were awesome and always willing to help out. Also sometimes we had free food in the break room provided.

    Cons

They never taught me how to do anything and just expected that I knew how things worked already. The pay was not good even though I understand it's a retail job. The store was always in shambles and I was always given the job to clean up whole sections at a time. Plus most of the people I worked with didn't care and were rude to me.

    Advice to Management

Make sure employees are actually taught everything in the store before asking them to do something. Countless times I was asked to do something in which I had never even heard of.

I have been working at Kohl's (More than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic Co workers. Friendly work environment. Lots of support. Very accepting.

    Cons

No benefits until 3 years. Too high expectations for the rate of pay. High level of favotism. Poor communication between staff and management. Inconsistencies in rules and protocol.

I have promotion to be based on favoritism. The store manager tends to prefer pretty girls in their 20s. Changes in programs in the store aren't well communicated. Policies may change when corporate or loss prevention is present.

    Advice to Management

Try to be open, honest and consistent with the staff. Pay competitive wages as your ads claim. Listen to the ideas of the employees as to how to improve the store and area where they work. Back the associates up when they to keep customers from committing fraud with coupons, rewards and Kohl's cash.
