    I worked at Kohl's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are many pros which others have mentioned.

    Cons

So-called restructuring has hurt a lot of people in both MKE and NY, many still without a job since June 2016.

    Advice to Management

Performance reviews should not be a surprise to the recipient. Management direction that the person should have been given feedback earlier, to give them a chance to improve on whatever the lacking skill is.

I have been working at Kohl's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work-life balance at Kohl's is literally stupendous. There are more than a few ways to avoid showing up to work. In total, an individual could (easily) take 392 hours off a year between PTO, VTO (voluntary time off), FWA (flexible work arrangements), absences (no more than 11 occurrences in a year, which equals missing more than 2 hours in any one day [but two consecutive days missed only equals 1 occurrence]), volunteer events, and etc. There is no excuse for missing appointments, your kid's first talent show, or whatever y'all do.

In addition to work-life balance, Kohl's generally does a good job of taking care of people. They are extremely generous in approving FMLA, almost always feed you if you work on holidays, and have an on-site Wellness Center as well as a cafeteria. This is in the Richardson/Dallas, Texas location.

    Cons

All you need to know is that the systems that are used and the management that are employed are stuck in the 1990's. You can figure out the rest!

    Advice to Management

It's not really up to the management at our site, it's up to the individuals at the VERY TOP to make change. Essentially, the contact center is looked at as an ancillary (if not optional) entity therefore it does not make much sense to invest in it. If you don't believe me, ask someone else!

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The management at my store was pretty much great. They knew their stuff and took care of it. Co-workers are cool. You can take your breaks whenever you please. I would say there was a good amount of freedom with working as a floor associate.

    Cons

Super high expectations which set you up for failure. At my store, customers are disgusting, rude, and so messy. Kohls customers dont care for anything and they will talk back with no hesitation. The work load is heavy being a floor associate. They never have enough employees to help get the work done. Sometimes its so stressful, I have contemplated walking out of there.

    Advice to Management

Put more people on the floor when closing on busy nights. Put more people on the floor during mid-shifts so it's easier for closing people to close without as much stress.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is friendly and helpful when you need it. It's a fast paced environment and there is always something to do. Most coworkers are friendly as well and it is a team environment.

    Cons

Weekends are required, but that is given with any retail job. Also, you are paid minimum wage and will not receive a good raise at your 1 year (maybe 1% if you are lucky).

    Advice to Management

Give a reasonable raise if you expect people to do more than they were hired to do.

    Pros

    Sales and coupons are great

    Cons

If your part time (literally everyone is besides management) you get less than 20 hours. Work only only a week.

    Advice to Management

    Give employees more hours.

MJM employees should not be working register---let us do our job

    Advice to Management

Hire more Cashiers - otherwise MJM gets in trouble when the floor is not tidy because they are having to assist at registers
