    Pros

    -flexible hours.
-management did not terminate me after so many -missed work days.

    Cons

-Whenever I asked most Supervisors and or mangement a question or for advise, I would was just told whatever sounded good for business or what I wanted to hear. Like as if im being talked to as a customer, not as a real employee.

-Lack of structure and organization within the work ethics, compared to other retail jobs.

-Was never trained properly. (Work in multiple departments for 2 and a half years)

-Caught one supervisor and her boyfriend shoplifting.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at your Supervisors' supervising skills.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

register is easy to figure out if you have worked as a cashier before. 30% off discount, flexible hours, will work with your availability

    Cons

no one gives you instructions on how to do certain things with the register like opening the credits or how to check a price or an item with out a tag. most of the e3's give an attitude when i have asked for help. i had half an hour of training on the register...

    Advice to Management

better training program for cashiers even if they have experience, have the self service online portal explained better, more communication between associates and managers

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexibility.

They're pretty flexible when it comes to your schedule.

    Cons

Pay. The pay is basically what you would expect. It's nothing to write home about and most of your coworkers will be using it a secondary job. Also it's retail, so you're going to deal with the usual retail annoyances. Unless trying to get a management position, it's best to get in for whatever your reasons are and then move on to something better.

    Advice to Management

Increase the amount you pay, and stop being cheap with the raises.

    Pros

Great work life balance during off season, majority of the people are great. Office facility is nice, great benefits and employee perks

    Cons

Terrible work life balance during busy season, many "death march" projects where management disregards any red flags and pushes through to deliver

    Pros

    Flexible hours and friendly coworkers

    Cons

We were always understaffed, which made it hard to get the store in order while still giving customers the help they needed.

    Rarely have enough people closing

    Advice to Management

Schedule enough people to complete what's expected

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fun environment
    Good people
    Great discounts

    Cons

    Do not value employees
Corporate doesn't pay attention to the individual store needs and uses a 1 size fits all strategy
    Lots of a drama
    Lots of favoritism
Not at all respectful of family/medical emergencies
After two and a half years I was let go because of a family emergency and severe health issues 6 months prior (all excused by drs notes.) I was up for a management position, had E3 shifts, knew every single department, but everyone is replaceable. They make you think they value you, but once you've been there for a while, you see through the smoke in mirrors.

    Advice to Management

Be more consistent with enforcing policies.
Get over the power struggles and stop contradicting.
Know the value of your employees.

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The discounts! The ability for discount stacking as an employee is insane!
At my store, the management was very accommodating - allowed flexibility to request certain days/times off permanently (within reason)
It's a part time job that offers vacation time and benefits.
They reward hard workers with more hours
Occasional associate food days to reward associates
Many incentive programs offered for great customer service

    Cons

As a closer, much like any other retail job, the end time was never the actual end time. Expected to be there at least an hour later than scheduled on normal days, but around Christmas, you'll be lucky if you get out 2 hours from scheduled end time.
Also much like any other retail job, you will soon learn that customers are monsters....leaving mounds of clothes and garbage in the dressing rooms.
Required to work on all holidays - except Easter and Christmas Day
No set schedule - varies week to week
As a floor associate, there was little opportunity for participation in incentives for new credit enrollment
