I have been working at Kohl's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Love jewelry! Enjoy helping customers pick out "gifts" for others. Like being "in charge". Enjoy merchandising. Enjoy providing excellent customer service.

    Cons

Short staffed. Credit goals. Management. Lack of communication. Inexperienced associates.

    Advice to Management

Keep tabs on level of morale. Continue to provide incentives for obtaining credit goals. Better communication to associates (huddles). More positive feedback to associates. Show more compassion toward all associates, not just a few.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible hours and nice employees,

    Cons

Very stressful when you're the only one available in 3 departments which happens often, sometimes put into departments you know nothing about, have to answer questions a customer has about a product that you know nothing about, low pay for much of the work that has to be done on the daily

    Advice to Management

Put more people in department because listening for 3 departments and cleaning out the fitting rooms is very stressful. Also, increase the pay.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing co-workers, and fun place to work. Great sense of team work. The store runs really well, there are well experienced supervisors. This is a great place to work if you're looking for a team that feels more like a family.

    Cons

While corporate aims to treat their employees fairly it seems to have a hard time doing so. My biggest problem with them is the way they handle raises. Raises are once a year and come through corporate. They are largely based on credit (how many people you signed up for the kohls charge) and now cost of living. This means that you are likely to receive a very low wage increase the few times it is actually raised. The only real way for you to get a proper increase is to move your way up the corporate latter, which is not that easy to do. Most upper positions are filled by people who are not going to leave anytime soon. You could be one of the best employees there and only be making cents more than new hires.

    Advice to Management

Process raises at the store level. Employees that are performing really well are not getting the raise they deserved because corporate is not there to witness it. It is a very detached way of doing it, and if you want to keep your best employees you need to pay them fairly.
