    I worked at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pleasant people to work with, managers were upbeat and professional.

    Cons

There was a big push for all cashiers to push credit card accounts, if you are not into the sales aspect, this may limit your advancement or hours.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Transferring stores is pretty easy
    Coworkers are great
    Flexible scheduling
    Sometimes you have good days
Liked working at the first store - great environment

    Cons

Went downhill when I transferred to a different store
Paid very little, yet expected to do a lot
Sometimes expectations placed on you are unrealistic
    Pressure to push credit
The general manager I work with currently is unpleasant
    Raises are rare and little

    Advice to Management

You need to work on making the place a more positive environment to work at. Also, the pressure to push credit on customers is ridiculous.

I have been working at Kohl's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    People, Teams, environment, discount

    Cons

stress, no personal time at holidays, acknowledgements & advancement is low.

    Advice to Management

value your dedicated employees, give back medical benefits, by employing more full time associates. Your processes & depts would run better if the employees had something to gain in their personal life. PT'ers are never going to give you 110% because they will not love and care about their job, they are not dedicated

I worked at Kohl's (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a great first job, you'll learn a lot and it'll definitely teach you how to balance different things at once
Coworkers were great and also some of the managers

    Cons

I honestly believe theres needs to be better maintance with the fitting rooms instead of expecting one person to recover it during closing on busy days or not even busy days. Misses and maybe men's needs two people.
Kohls charge, the pressure to sell it is overwhelming
Too much expected when in reality there isn't enough time, managers set unrealistic expectations

    Advice to Management

Kohls is great, but the pressure you put in employees to sell Kohl's charge cards in unbelievable. If some says no the first time I think no has should be told you gotta ask them another two times. No likes being sold something repetitively and there's no point in pressuring employees who are trying as hard as they can. It's terrible that the managers you employ will cut hours based on whose doing a good enough job or not. Also stop setting high expectation for those on the floor when there's barely any coverage.

    I have been working at Kohl's part-time

    Pros

Great coworkers, very helpful, and that is a good thing when you are new. The managers try to help you be better and they are fun. Flexible work hours if you give a notice of availability at least a couple of weeks in advance.

    Cons

Associates are not allowed to have more than 26 hours in a week because they would have to consider you full time and give you benefits. That is not allowed. So if you happen to get more than that in a week because you are filling in for someone else that called off, rest assured, your hours will be cut down the next coming weeks. Now that seasonal associates are starting to be hired, my hours are even less because business doesn't quite call for so many associates. You don't know from week to week, what your going to get until you see the schedule that comes out on Fridays. It makes it hard to budget for your monthly bills when you don't know what you are getting. The pay is $9.00/hr.
