Great manager and supervisors. There is always work to do so your never bored and there is barely any down time for you. Minimal micro managing, They work with their employees when there are familial or personal issues going on outside of work. Free parking for long term employees.

good benefits, good work environment, great work life balance
Cons
workload sometimes outweighs the staffing.

Pros
They have an employee designated to training paralegals, and is always available for questions. There is less stress not having the burden of figuring everything out on your own. This firm could be a good first job in an office setting, as you receive some guidance and tips that may not be obvious.
Cons
The tasks are not challenging and are very repetitive. In my opinion, it felt like a factory-you do a small part of a process over and over rather than a full process (like a conveyer built) and often need to fix the mistakes of others. If they start you above the lowest rate, most people reported not having a fair raise. Parking is expensive! They will not pay it until you hit four years. I believe they don't have the need for high quality workers, just good enough. They don't believe these jobs are worth a livable wage. High turnover. Not much talking allowed. If you do well enough with your tasks, my experience was they tend to keep people in those spots. Not much room to advance out of the categories unless you become a manager, where you would do more of a normal range of what an assistant typically does. Everything you do is highly monitored, not much freedom even after you prove efficiency long term.

This is just so I can search Glass Door
Feb 8, 2023 - ParalegalRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's a job. It will feed your family. It's been 10 years since I worked here. This review is purely because Glass Door requires input in order to allow searches.
Cons
You'll be collecting debts. No matter what department, you're a debt collector. It brings in the kind of people who can either overlook that, or embrace it. Better be okay with being one of those two.

Good Development Opportunity
Nov 30, 2022 - Paralegal Supervisor in Milwaukee, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've had a couple promotions in just a few years. My manager does a good job with feedback and letting me problem solve on my own. It's been good for my development.
Cons
The team keeps growing, so I've had to do a lot of training/cross-training.

Very good year+ with KLF
Mar 29, 2022 - Supervisor in Milwaukee, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've been with Kohn Law Firm for a bit over a year and it's been a great professional move for me. I've found the work-life balance much better than previous employers. The office is open 8am-5pm, so no nights/weekends/holidays. I think this was the first year I wasn't working the day after Thanksgiving and could actually enjoy time off with my family. Good office environment too, so I felt welcomed from the start.
Cons
I commute from outside of downtown, so of course that can be tricky at times. But I enjoy the downtown location and being so close to things to do after work or places to get lunch, so I suppose it evens out.

Learning a lot so far
Feb 28, 2022 - Paralegal Assistant in Milwaukee, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
My manager and all the attorneys I work with have helped me grow. Anytime there's something I don't understand, even something small like a vocabulary term that I'm not familiar with, they're all kind about it and will review it with me to help me learn more.
Cons
It's a lot of new information. I didn't have law firm experience before this, so it's been a lot to learn.
