I worked at Koinonia Homes full-time

    Pros

    None. None what so ever.

    Cons

Mean and spiteful management, no work life balance, very demanding. A very unforgiving environment. Very unprofessional. Expect work round the clock.

I worked at Koinonia Homes (More than a year)

    Pros

    Not a single thing.

    Cons

Everything. Everyone is scared of the Executive Director who is spiteful, unprofessional and demands, but never gives respect. Because of Director everyone lives every work day in fear. Makes you feel like you are a fool. She is still there, after 25 years because the dumb board never asks current and past staff about the revolving door. People hardly ever stay longer than 2 years.

    Advice to Management

Ask Director to leave. Get a director that has personality and respects professional staff.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Koinonia Homes full-time

    Pros

Worked with individuals who are disabled and needing everyday assistance. Wonderful staff.

    Cons

Upper management is unorganized. Large pay to upper management but small pay to DSP. DSP and supervisors should benefit from high pay since most of the work falls on these two levels.

    Advice to Management

Pay your staff more. Make supporting the individuals a priority instead of a pay check. Help supervisor run houses more. Needing more family work life balance.

    Pros

Company truly cares about it's employees and makes efforts to reward good work.

    Cons

Politics at the upper management level, but you have that everywhere.

    Advice to Management

Bring lower level management into decisions that affect them and the front line staff. This will create buy in with the ranks in the homes.
