    Pros

It's a big international company, made very good game title. The relationship between employer is very good.

    Cons

The company didn't respect employer. The management is inefficiency. They only want to do some outsourcing work in China. They didn't know how to sell games in China.

    Advice to Management

They should follow the trend of game industry.

I worked at Konami as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

This was my second experience in the gaming industry that basically cemented me wanting to continue on into the industry. I loved the people that I got to work with and am still connected with some of them today. Some of the people that I worked with were promoted through the company and got to become Producers and Product Managers.

    Cons

The fun corporate culture that I've since experienced at other companies seemed almost non existent at Konami. Very little development work is done at this office so there's not much control over the products.

I worked at Konami as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere that familiarizes you with the software development process while keeping a working environment that eases someone fresh out of college into the working world.

    Cons

Chances of retaining extended employment as a QA Tester are not guaranteed. Check with your supervisor how long your contract will last so that you can have another job lined up if it does not look like they will extend your contract.

    Advice to Management

Be upfront with QA contractors and let them know if their chances of acquiring an extended contract are low so that they can work lined up. Other than that it was a pleasure working with you all and I hope things are going well.

I worked at Konami (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are friendly and creative
DDR Machine and recently released titles to play in the lobby
Work with people and groups across the US and overseas
    Great office location

    Cons

Orders from the HQ in Japan come down and cannot be argued with, regardless of how much sense they make
Upper management and execs in the US are often given little reign to react to their market
Relies heavily on contractor labor with no benefits even for long term positions, but still ostracizes them

    Advice to Management

I know your hands are largely tied. Maybe Japan will stop trying to suffocate you.

I worked at Konami full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Holidays and Vacation Time
    Insurance Benefits
    401K

    Cons

If you are not Japanese, you don't stand a chance of making it at this company. They truly discriminate against the "dumb" American. Management constantly speaks in Japanese during meetings, so the Americans never understand what is being said. Very unprofessional.
Constantly being watched, worse than a big brother. They have serious trust issues. Makes it very hard to get your job done.
A lot of people have been laid off, including myself, in the past 3 years, however pay increases are rare. The workload continues to double without, if not triple, without additional pay.
If you travel, you are expected to pay out of pocket, then request reimbursement. Takes 2-3 weeks for reimbursement.
    Lengthy approvals processes.
    Huge turnover
    No direction from management whatsoever

    Advice to Management

Be more open minded to new ideas.
You way isn't always the right way. The company is in a downward spiral. Clearly your old ways aren't working.
Appreciate the quality workers that are left.

I worked at Konami full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, great 401k match and some other benefits. A lot of good people.

    Cons

A lot of micro-managers and some favoritism and cliques. Originally was run a bit more like a small business but became much more corporate and rigid.

    Advice to Management

Trust some of your employees and they will work better and harder.

Interesting job for a person who works on this work, if you do something like that this offer match perfectly for you.

    Cons

The job extension is only restricted to the area of Gambling & Casinos.

    Advice to Management

That's a good way to get young people into the team. Let's the doors open to hard workers professionals.
