    Pros

The company has a very strong industry presence. They offer extensive training to make sure you're familiar with the process of maintaining overhead cranes and aware of all safety precautions to take while on the job.

    Cons

The management needs to be more transparent top to bottom with what they're looking for in an employee. They need to do a better job of compartmentalizing the sales process so certain sales reps aren't cross selling and taking business away from other reps. Communication was poor from the District level.

    Old ways versus new ways

Nov 2, 2012 - Demand Planner in Hyvinkää

    Business Outlook

    Pros

The company is starting to shake it's old ways and is committed to change and unification of systems and processes.

    Cons

A Lot of resistance to change. Senior management is committed to change but their involvement in bringing change is quite limited. Employee responsibilities don't always match with their compensation.

    Cons

Unused global policies Indian management is too conservative to make the right moves in favour of Konecranes & its respective employees. They should be more aware of their rights and powers.

    Pros

Very few. At least they have pretty good benefits.

    Cons

Ready to take a trip back to 1920? Outdated and oppressive management techniques will make you feel like you’re working at a sweatshop. The office tech is all very outdated. They’re behind the rest of the American workforce technology wise by at least 10 years. This company will lie to you and show zero respect for your career aspirations.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I'm sorry to hear you had such an experience working for us. If you don't mind, I'd like to tell you a little about what we've been doing for the past 4 years. We've undergone a complete business transformation and just finished implementation in North America. We're thankful for our employees bearing with us during this time as we believe that the whole company will feel the positive impact. It pains me to hear that your career aspirations were not heard. Our bi-annual employee/manager review process is a staple of our organization. I'd like to listen to and address your concerns if you are willing to discuss them. Please email me at hrfeedback.ame@konecranes.com. -Bernie D

Gulf States District Management worst I've ever seen

    Pros

Great benefits.....that is all this company has going for it....everything else is a disgrace. Lying, cheating, manipulating people is management positions.

    Cons

Work load is twice the amount any one person can do, bunch of back stabbing, thieves....Customers beware you are paying for personal tools purchased for Branch Managers, you are paying for supplies to build sheds at employees houses. Branch Managers buying 4 wheelers /motorcycles from craigslist on company time, bringing them back to the shop to repair on company time & then reselling for a profit. Which poses dangers to other employees with in the branch as there is Thousands of dollars in cash going back at forth. Bigger customers as in the Nucor's, Gerdua Ameri-steel's , KTG beware the bigger the job the more personal items are bought and charged to the customer. Wheels are being bought for managers personal vehicles then sold for personal profit. Branch managers allow technicians to scrap metal from customers site for personal gain. I could go on & on but the bottom line is management is crooked as can be.....if given half a chance the branch will make 50 & 60% margins on jobs. Management just delegates their duties down and just sits around while everyone else in the branch is overloaded with work. Worst thing is management could careless about their customers and will rip customers off every chance they can.

A good company but there are young inexperienced supervisors with poor management skills in the Houston factory.

May 16, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Houston, TX

    Pros

Company has a strong foundation and branches other than Houston are good to work for. Descent pay & benefits. Company trains its employees.

    Cons

Young inexperienced supervisors with poor management skills fail to bring problems to management so they can be corrected. Very high employee turnover. Management in the Houston, TX factory is completely out of touch of what is going on in production. A horrible shipping & receiving department with a long time supervisor that does nothing to address the problems of material organization. The same problems are identified in every weekly meeting but nothing is ever done to fix the problems. Lack of organization and high workloads have taken a toll on the employees which has caused dozens of skilled people to leave over the past few years.

    Pros

Non the company employes unqaulified people gives them 4 to 5 days training puts them in a van to carry out inspections / service

    Cons

Having worked for them in various locations including New Zealand, America and the UK I found their main interest is money. The lower middle management are picked not for their hands on experience and knowledge so can offer no technical support to the engineers. Training is kept to a minimum how can you put out an 'engineer' on a crane after 4 days training.

Good training, poor staff benefits, below market salary and huge workload

    Dec 31, 2017 - Manager
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good training when there is available budget which might come rarely. Commited older staff who are willing to teach but are getting really jaded

    Cons

Felt like being made used of. All the good guys left and management made no attempt to keep any of them. Decisions are not being made well, mostly pollitically. Corporate office is an island only interested in things too big picture for the normal employee so if you are joining as a manager or below you are just warming seats.
