Most Humiliating place to work for.

      Pros

I started working for the company in 2010, at first I learned quite a bit. I was able to work independently, and worked with several departments including Engineering, and shipping areas. I also was able to travel and see other plants.

      Cons

Management or there lack of, was something else. When Management was in town, they did not want to hear what you had to say.with problems or concerns, if you passed by their offices, they would have their feet up on the desk sitting back like fat cats. Weekly meetings were suppose to be about input from different areas in plant..but would always be very humiliating..Management did not care to really hear your input. They would scream at you and treat you like a second rate citizen. Konecranes Houston has poor Management and if you were part of their snitch team you were in like flinn! If not, they would look for ways to get you out of there. One particular instance, There was this project mgr. that would talk to customers like they were beneath him.. Management knew this and did nothing also knowing this would set a bad example. Another incident that same Project Mgr. soon was promoted to a Manager position, and never did anything positive in dept. This same Mgr. lays off a person in their dept. and precedes to tell one of his friends in other cubicle that same time he will get this person help in his dept. now, the next day...my opinion: No one deserves to be treated like this in a company Management is super bad, if you don't want to be put down constantly, or treated badly no matter what dept. you would be in then...don't risk a good opportunity elsewhere..

A good company but there are young inexperienced supervisors with poor management skills in the Houston factory.

      Pros

Company has a strong foundation and branches other than Houston are good to work for. Descent pay & benefits. Company trains its employees.

      Cons

Young inexperienced supervisors with poor management skills fail to bring problems to management so they can be corrected. Very high employee turnover. Management in the Houston, TX factory is completely out of touch of what is going on in production. A horrible shipping & receiving department with a long time supervisor that does nothing to address the problems of material organization. The same problems are identified in every weekly meeting but nothing is ever done to fix the problems. Lack of organization and high workloads have taken a toll on the employees which has caused dozens of skilled people to leave over the past few years.

OK but pretty unstructured and stressful.

      Pros

Mostly intelligent people to work with. Interesting work learning about cranes and their complexities.

      Cons

Poor management, managed from a distance and didn't really listen to the employees. Some perm employees were burnt out and this created a stressful environment to work in. They don't really practice what the company values are.
