I have been working at Konica Minolta Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Konica Minolta is a forward thinking company that solves for current and future needs of customers. I'm proud to work for this quality company.

    Cons

Work-life balance suffers since there is so much to do and not enough time to get it all done. This, however, is my own choice.

    Advice to Management

Keep training, coaching and investing in the sales force. When you invest in your people they will recognize that you care ans appreciate it.

I worked at Konica Minolta Business Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Busy, good benefit options with 401k company match up to a certain point, plus over-time.
Management is fairly good. They will ask what improvements we thought would be necessary and they would listen to us vs. their superiors and what the overall bottom line was, and go from there.

    Cons

80-100 calls per day minimum; if less will be pulled aside, discussed and reviewed for further action. Entire Meters Dept. eliminated and outsourced. Sometimes it just wasn't possible, as the customers would think our dept. was customer service and wanted us to track down billing and correct problems, before they would give the meter reads. Customer expects assistance, not being transferred from dept. to dept. in hopes of resolution. Not good when you're on timed calls and your calls are being listened to, to ensure program is being followed.

    Pros

There are frequently open positions throughout the branch which makes moving to new opportunities a reality. At the corporate level, the commitment to community is strong.

    Cons

The firm has poor management and leadership at branch levels. Many of the managers have not been trained in modern management techniques. Anger and yelling is not management, unless your in the military.

    Advice to Management

Get branch managers trained on how to conduct meetings, training in leadership and motivation.

    Pros

Its a capital equipment company if you can last 3-5 years, its great to have on your resume

    Cons

Revolving door, management is awful. Management tell you to seek help from more experienced reps, experienced reps blow you off. No training involved, Float or sink mentality. They don't use the business solutions they sell, therefore their reps don't know how to use them

    Advice to Management

    You guy need better Training...

I have been working at Konica Minolta Business Solutions full-time

    Pros

Good coworkers are a dime a dozen in certain departments, the rest are complacent and comfortable in their positions (15+ years)
Mostly flexible with days off, but not enough days given
For the most part, you're left only to do your work but you have to train yourself on how to do your job since there is no proper training given

    Cons

HORRIBLE WORK PLACE for any recent grads. The company is SO BACKWARDS in their way of operating it makes your job 10 x worse. You will most likely be the youngest in your department and that will show by the efficient work millennials do compared to everyone that refuses to change the way they work...
The compensation is disrespectful. Beyond low rates for the area and work done. Raises are even worse (0.5-1.5% if your lucky, more if you're favored in the department), you are not rewarded for the work you do. Favoritism plays too large of a role in the company, making it unbearable at times. If you want to absolutely despise coming into work, make the minimum for the work that you perform and run out that door at 5pm, then this company is top of the list.
Also, you can't work from home. A LARGE MAJORITY of departments can work remotely due to the type of work, but it's highly frowned upon (which doesn't make any sense)

    Advice to Management

Change your way of THINKING and DOING. This company will not keep up with the times and will definitely not retain some amazing prospects because of how this company is run. Too old fashioned, too much favoritism, and very backwards.
Let employees work from home, give summer hours (leave early on Fridays) and come into the present.

    Pros

    Cons

People are treated differently some can come in at 9:00 and nothing is said to them, some get admonished when they come in at 8:05.
There is little opportunity for advancement

    Advice to Management

Be consistent in the way employees are treated.

I worked at Konica Minolta Business Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, great product that works well for customers. Great service Techs.

    Cons

No onboard training given. No Advancement opportunities. Definitely an "Old Boy" network! Unapologetic favoritism!
Very poor management who is only looking to cover themselves.

    Advice to Management

Stop the favoritism and treat all employees fairly. Stop celebrating people who you handed their business while looking down on those who are basically on their own.

I worked at Konica Minolta Business Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent Products
Good service department depending on location
    Good solutions and overlay reps
    Decent worklife balance

    Cons

    Extremely poor management structure
Old school management style... DOESN'T WORK
    Hostile environment- borderline HR issues
Major favoritism among older, tenured reps
Terrible upper management- trickle down effect to sales managers making them miserable
Upper management doesn't care about employees and doesn't hesitate to harass reps
Major stress and anxiety from management
No training or supervision, only ask about #'s on last days of month
    No room for advancement
Too many products to sell, no training on them
Quotas are unattainable unless you are one of the lucky ones
Accounts being handpicked for certain reps
Everything revolves around upper management and nothing else matters

    Advice to Management

Fire all local management starting from the top. Hire some management that won't harass reps. There is no motivation to learn or succeed and this comes down from the Upper management. The management style is old and dead and is a major turn off for newer reps. Implement a better training program if you're going to sell so many products. This company at least in this location is in a LOT OF TROUBLE

I have been working at Konica Minolta Business Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some really good people to work with at the company. This is a good place to get sales experience on your resume.

    Cons

Competing with your own products against independent dealers in the market. The company values the dealer channel more than direct channel. The primary training for sales reps is through watching 10-20 videos and taking multiple choice tests afterwards. Extremely limited in scope and not very helpful.
