The only reason to work at Kraft Winchester is if you have nowhere else to go already have to many years invested to leave or lol u are a White collar as u will notice from all there reviews posted they are well paid and do nothing in reality at least maybe 7 out of 10 as very few actually would be really needed to make the bussiness actually run ,as when it all really comes down to it whatever is being sold has probably been made by a Blue collar

    Cons

As a Blue collar U get treated as a # anymore .If u work in a Right to Work State I guarantee u if u have not got a good union u are screwed .Just ask any non ass kisser at the Winchester Facility . They have been cheated out of wages for years ,often belittled by acting Bussiness Unit Mananger who themself I would and every other employees would think acts like a little baby . As Kraft says they are always for the Working Mother lol I can assure u this has to be at other facilitys or only in White Collar positions .Her I have seen many employees be turned down when they needed time off for personal needs , often employees never get to use there own time when they want to . Kraft will shut down many times asking the employees to use their time then when the employees actually need their time they have none . The employees can not get a day off if 1 other employee has off they have to find coverage which is almost impossible at times as many employees are already over worked as they have to sign up for manatory overtime 6 days a week .As this facility normally works Monday thru Friday now that they have gotten in trouble by violating the employees Labor RIghts . Kraft trys to get back at the employees making the employees have to work Saturdays also normally May till Nov most employees only getting a few actual weekends off during that time and I can guarantee u it ain' t to Krafts liking if they do get them off as normally the only reason they get the weekend off as if they are running low on supply's or if the Comany has other plans top do something else like if maybe it is a Holliday weekend .The benefits here also suck as many employees have to fight to get Aetna to pay their bills & as before we at least got a decent check at the end of the year as a profit share ,but now we hardly get a dime .I can also say they will also change every rule have to take away any rights a employee may have as they are often changeing the HandBooks . I could go on and on how this Company has it downside anymore as years ago many employees only noticed the good sides ,but i think this is a thing of the past . Unless lol u are a White Collar or u have some mighty Big Lips and a Big Brown nose.etc .you might also like to start carring a good sharp knife to stab in the back the least expected as that also is a great big deal at Kraft.

    Advice to Management

I'd tell you to think of other people instead of themselves. Employees value their family and their family life and their life outside of the plant as most of the senior management that I know they don't care about anything but themselves. They want work work work from the employee to make THEMSELVES look good and they don't care how everyone else feels. They always have time to cheat on their spouses with no morals of their own but they inspect the employees not to care about their families or family life and they expect the employees to make their life nothing but a KRAFT LIFE.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

They gave back to the community and did a lot of wonderful things regarding volunteering and donations.

    Cons

The Administrative Assistants were treated like second class citizen. We did not have advancement planning for our careers. We felt like contracted workers. I personally was finally promoted and had a horrible manager who was new to the company and after working with her for 1 year I was sent to the emergency room and had to go out on disability. I did not feel like Human Resources was really concerned with complaints and they just wanted to keep my manager happy, so it led me to resign.

    Advice to Management

Some of you are not meant to be in Senior Management and you need to go back and get additional training to learn how.

    Pros

You can take off any time you want because nobody seems to notice ar care if you're there or not

    Cons

Zero communication, quite a revolving door of employees, nothing ever gets accomplished, way too much corporate bs (like being in the movie Office Space), you won't even get hired on with benefits let alone advance unless you are a male with a masters degree. You will absolutely lose your mind from boredom. No leadership whatsoever. I would only recommend this company to someone who wants to get paid to do nothing.

    Advice to Management

Stop luring people in through a temp agency and promising to hire them on in 6 months when you know for a fact that you won't do it for years if you ever do hire them. Spend a little time seeing how people actually spend their day and see how bored and unmotivated they are. A little direction would benefit everyone.

    Pros

They will pay for school but only for your Bachelors degree, Masters is not covered.
"Kraft Foods" looks good on your resume

    Cons

    - Plan on working 10 hours days and weekends!
    - Upper management is disconnect with plant floor operations.
    - Corporate level managers are completely out of touch with manufacturing.
    - Very poor communication
    - HR department is there to protect the company... not you!
    - Too many "Fast track candidates" making there way to the top without the right skills or experience to do the job.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to fill the place with "diversity candidates" and just higher people based on their skill set and experience who can do the job.

    Cons

Worked for Nabisco, Kraft for 12 years. increased sales every year.Good Evals. every year. Became Wall to Wall proficient. Store Mgrs. loved me. Fired me because RSM was retiring and they needed to get SSR into a territory and get her required timeframe in and promoted ASAP. After 12 years discharged for Poor Job Performance. Ain't that a Hoot !! SSR is a young college grad. who does'nt have a clue about DSD grocery. But she should be able to forward e-mails and attend endless meetings, should work out fine.

    Advice to Management

Value your experienced employees and the rapport they have to make the sale.

You can work from home depending on your manager. Good pay to start. Good room for advancement or career change.

    Cons

Low raises and bonus. Not enough manpower to complete the work. Long time span from idea to market. A lot of layoffs all the time.

    Advice to Management

You should listen to your employees and note that layoffs are not the only way for Kraft to make a profit.

    Pros

People believe that Heinz is a strong company - experience with this organization offers any employee credibility, rightly or wrongly.

    Cons

Heinz will drain any employee like a sponge, expecting long hours, the work of 2 people, and little recognition for going above and beyond, because it is expected.

Mar/April 2012: Heinz North America has delayed an already late delivery of their SAP installation by 2 more years and fired all of the staff who was working on this project. The vendors/consulting partners who have watched Heinz bungle this project for the past 2-3 years now think that they are insane. Every other CPG company has SAP...Heinz just can't make this happen.

Mar/April 2012: The local salaried workforce was diminished by about 5%, many others still employed are in fear of losing their jobs.

The company only offers a $5000 per family ($2500 per individual) high-deductible health plan that is very expensive to buy - this ends up costing every employee a fortune and discourages them from seeking the healthcare that he/she needs, as the employee has to pay for it on their own.

    Advice to Management

Fire your entire executive staff and start over - these leaders OBVIOUSLY are self serving and are not acting in the best interest of the organization. Your healthcare benefits are the worst in Pittsburgh and your employees are spreading the word. Too much of the cash is spent on your top tier with little rewards for the worker bees who get things done.

The Keystone project is a complete debacle. Shame on you.
