      For high achievers.

Aug 31, 2020 - Senior Manager in Chicago, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      1. Your growth depends on how good you perform. No limit as to when you get promoted. 2. Flexibility to move across functions and geographies. 3. Great people - supportive and helpful.

      Cons

      1. Fast paced and lacks a structured training process. Not for people who hate ambiguity. 2. Less fringe benefits but a huge bonus potential can compensates for that. 3. A lot of meetings sometimes feel wasteful

      Hard Pass

Apr 11, 2020 - Group Lead in Chicago, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Great people from entry level to middle management. - Challenging because there is almost zero guidance from upper management - Opportunity to advance faster than a normal company but this can also lead to under qualified in critical positions

      Cons

      - Never a consistent direction. The company changes its whole approach 2-3 times a year and expects employees to redo work to fit the new need. - Lack of long term view. Always focused on just the year at hand and never the next year to 5 years. - Upper Management pretends to know everything and sets strategies without talking to middle or more junior positions. Majority of upper management is new to the company so clearly they lack any sort of historical information. - You are expected to work constantly. PTO at KHC stands of Part Time Off or that's how it feels. - Severely understaffed with extremely inexperienced workers. It is not uncommon for a buyer 1 year out of college to manage $200 million in spend annually. - All managers are working managers but given the lack of staffing there is very little time to train, coach and develop their team.

Needed help before 3G, but 3G made it worse

      Pros

a lot of great people to work with, camaraderie many great brands and products nice office

      Cons

nepotism among the Brazilians and 3G finance people merger purchase made the company over leveraged zero based budgeting meant fighting for necessities - for example a hundred dollar training for a new hire to replace the headcount that was cut constant headcount cuts difficult expectations and workload resulted in a revolving door of talent they got rid of annual merit reviews and turned it into a clandestine process most benefits eroded over the years I worked there management by objectives (MBO) was a big carrot and bigger stick - huge bonuses that could be wiped out by poor sales or EBITA meant you could go the whole year performing well to receive nothing; MBO structure created infighting and promoted number manipulation, a large factor likely which lead to the SEC investigation lack of innovation and reinvestment due to cost cutting focus, other CPGs were busy growing their brand and consumer base in better/fresher options, Kraft Heinz was busy mixing ketchup with mayonnaise. Other large CPG food companies's stock has grown steadily over past five years. General lack of strategic focus, too many initiatives that changed too frequently in order to distract from poor results

Opportunities limitless if willing to put in work

Aug 5, 2020 - Brand Manager in Chicago, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great company and great people. In recent years, Leadership really seems to be taking the necessary steps to transform the business and the workplace. The opportunities are present to be able to nurture skills with ability to explore other career areas during tenure. Not for people who are unwilling to put in the hard work needed to reap rewards

      Cons

Work life balance can still feel fleeting. And rituals and routines often feel like they can outweigh real work. Feels as though we spend tons of time dealing with internal Bureaucracies instead of doing real work.

Grueling Culture with No Change in Sight

Nov 28, 2019 - Associate Director in Chicago, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The salary is competitive if you speak up and demand to be paid equal to your peers. Kraft is infamous for its "Meritocracy" culture which essentially means promoted to a higher position but paid less than what that position is typically paid. There are still great people here which is what has kept me here. Great brands as well.

      Cons

The SLT talks a big game regarding change and employee wellness but ultimately falls short. The expectations from a bonus perspective are unrealistic. 50% bonus targets, but what management doesn't tell you is that is multiplied by how the total company does, so i have made 100% of my personal bonus, which will be multiplied by a 30% and ultimate will get a regular sized bonus. The workload expected does not warrant average bonuses. Employees are shamed if they leave before 6pm. Health and Wellness isn't actually a concern despite the weekly emails from HR reminding us to de-stress. What would help employees de-stress is a culture that discourages managers to cancel employees Dr appts, workout classes, put on 7am regular meetings.

      Pros

      Great benefits and great people.

      Cons

The long years of an aggressive result oriented culture created a toxic environment. Things are changing, but very slowly.

There’s almost no reason to work here

Nov 1, 2019 - Marketing in Chicago, IL
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

-Great people (up to a certain level) -Solid retirement benefits -good bonus (if the company hits targets) -ability to try out different roles

      Cons

      - Awful leadership - a lot of bad people managers - Possibly the most incompetent HR staff in the industry - constant turnover - company chooses to prioritize getting new employees rather than retention of current talent - lack of proper training/development - bare bones workspace - lack of diversity (ESPECIALLY in leadership), and it shows - clear favoritism (especially towards Brazilians or 3G partners) -politics/toxic environment - lack of resources - monitors, keyboards, some people don’t even have seats. It’s insane around here. Like others have mentioned, it’s difficult to get anything around here until someone leaves, but that happens often enough that some people don’t see it as an issue

Great Opportunity to Learn While We Write The Company's Next Chapter

Dec 11, 2019 - Vice President in Chicago, IL
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great opportunity to learn and grow your career if you are willing to work hard - and if you are resilient. Great People - supportive and willing to help you navigate.

      Cons

Alot of change, so you have to be willing to keep a great attitude and operate within a fair amount of ambiguity.
